Book Description

August 31, 2007
The climactic conclusion to Tony Ruggerio's Alien Deception! Death has many meanings. For some it is an end while for others it is a beginning. Yet, for one human/alien hybrid, it is a way to have one final chance to try and save his home, the planet Earth, a son he has never seen, and find an enemy that just won't stay dead.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"Following the path that made The Empire Strikes Back and The Wrath of Khan such great films, Ruggiero dishes out defeat after defeat to our heroes for most of the book. The villainous Copolla is dead, the heroic Greg Carlson's consciousness has been separated from his body and trapped in another dimension, and Sarah Carlson has given birth to two very special children. It turns out that Copolla (like all good villains) isn't entirely dead; his mental energies return to Earth, take control of the President of the United States and he hatches a scheme to upset the plans of the United Council for Developing Worlds for bringing Earth into their federation. Actors often claim that villains are more interesting to play, well, it's just as much fun to watch them succeed on occasion.

Of course the good guys win in the end and all of the loose ends are neatly tied up. If Alien Deception could be compared to "Doc" Smith's Gray Lensman then Alien Revelation is this series' Children of the Lens." -- Michael D. Pederson Publisher/Editor Nth Degree

"Tony Ruggiero has written about aliens and humans coexisting, bringing forth with imagination how aliens might actually be out there in the great beyond. This fast-paced story is about something everyone thinks about at one time or another. With a strong basis for his story, he creates a magical universe for us all to journey through." -- Rita Porter, Inscriptions Book Review

"...fast paced, filled with exciting mind-boggling concepts, while at the same time engaging our emotions with very human and very believable characters. All in all this is a very good read for lovers of mind-expanding Science Fiction." -- Marge Robbins, SimeGen Book Reviews

"...reminiscent of the old space opera type stories. The twists and turns of intrigue keep you guessing as plots develop within plots as the evil orchestrator of all the problems and setbacks is finally revealed. Only one specially gifted man can stop this monster but it may well cost him his own life to do so." -- Robert M Blacketer, Scribes World Reviews

"In this novel, short story wizard Ruggiero hones his dramatic sci-fi chops to an even finer edge, weaving an even tighter plot, but with just as much harrowing action and interesting characters as in the first book of this series. Built on a solid foundation, this story breaks new ground without over-hashing the elements that made the first successful. A worthy follow-up when many sci-fi sequels can disappoint. This reviewer is looking forward to another installment in this intriguing series, and to anything else that this promising writer can churn out. The first stage has been jettisoned, the second stage ignited and Tony Ruggiero's achievement of orbit among sci-fi's bestsellers is all but assured!" -- John Patrick Schmitz, The Door to Worlds Imagined

More About the Author

Tony Ruggiero retired from the United States Navy in 2001 after twenty-three years of service. While continuing to write, Tony teaches at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia. His published novels include:

Operation Immortal Servitude: Book I of the Declassified Files of the Team of Darkness: The US military has developed a new weapon to be added to its arsenal--the creatures known as vampires. Tony uses his Naval experience to write this dark fantasy thriller about a group of vampires that are discovered in Kosovo, captured and brought back to the United States to be used by the Navy SEALs as an elite hit squad. Ground breaking and fast paced, the novel is a characteristic mixture of the vampire lore of Anne Rice and the clandestine secrets of the military found in Tom Clancy novels.

Operation Save the Innocent: Book II of the Declassified files of the Team of Darkness: General Stone, the commander of the Special Operations forces is murdered. His assassin is a vampire who has been controlled and used by a U.S. secret government organization to murder selected targets since her arrival in the United States over sixty years ago. Meanwhile, the vampires from the Team of Darkness operation discover the existence of two young vampire girls being held captive in their own former prison and set out to free them while eluding both the military and the Agency.

Operation Face the Fear: Book III of the Declassified Files of the Team of Darkness: As John Reese attempts to find the missing vampire girls, he uncovers information that leads him to join forces the remaining vampires from the Team of Darkness. This collaboration will likely result in his own death if discovered by the secret government agency that seeks to use the vampires for their own idealistic goals of reshaping the world. However finding the vampires yet leads to another discovery--one very close to the heart of John Reese and makes him have to face his own fear that he has been hiding from.

Alien Deception: Something to keep in mind with the upcoming presidential election: Nothing is as it appears???nothing. Your whole life you think you understand who and what you are and then one day you learn that it is all a lie. So what do you do? You have lunch with the leading candidate for President of the United States???you and your alien friends.

Alien Revelation: The exciting conclusion to Alien Deception. Death has many meanings. For some it is an end, while for others it is a beginning. Yet, for one human/alien hybrid, it is a way to have one final chance to try and save his home, Earth, a son he has never seen, and find an enemy that just won't stay dead.
