Editorial Reviews

Award winner Donald Sutherland joins Academy Award¨ nominee Chief Dan George in this tale based on a true story. Alien Thunder vividly recounts the adventures of a feisty Indian named Almighty Voice (Gordon Tootoosis) and a powerful Northwest Mountie named Dan Candy (Donald Sutherland), when a Canadian mountie becomes a driven hunter, and then desperate prey, when he tries to track down the Indian who killed his partner (Kevin McCarthy). Now see it for the first time, in widescreen, from an HD master made from the original camera negatives.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Poor Copy November 30, 2009
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Very poor quality copy of the original movie. Very grainy and hard to see, but the worst part is the parts that are lost due to the film jumping forward and leaving gaps. This fact alone makes it difficult to watch and follow the story line. I saw this movie years ago at the theater and enjoyed it very much but watching this copy was a real dissapointment. Don't know if there is a better copy out there but I'll keep looking in the hopes I'll find one. Didn't spend a lot on this but what I did spend is wasted.

1.0 out of 5 stars Zero star. Should not be sold at all. November 7, 2007

Format:DVD
It's very dark. You can hardly see or hear anything. It's a complete waste of my money. I felt I was cheated.

Oh, the cover was printed very well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very poor quality video and sound. February 4, 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
The video was hard to watch and the audio was poor. I attempted to watch this movie for about 10 minutes. I shut it down only to watch another video with the same problems.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Massacre February 22, 2014
Format:Amazon Instant Video
Don't know if this is a fictional account or based on a true story, but it is a powerful recreation in Spirit of the frenzy that prevailed; an echo of the Great Amerikan Plains Atrocities. An archetypal in kind assessment of crazy U.S, Policies affected against Native Peoples such as the Pawnees, Paiutes, Dakota, Commanche, Apache, Arapaho, Cheyenne et.al, in order to clear the Plains and annex it for RR's Homesteaders, and Frontiersmen to settle and carve out fiefdoms and other such like territories and make them habitable for whites regardless of the environmental and human costs to the original inhabitants.
