4.0 out of 5 stars Fun Read, look forward to the next one January 8, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book continues the story of Hawk & Zach Callahan and their adventures following a move to Alaska in the dead of winter to satisfy the demands of an inheritance, begun in book 1. I agree with the other review, good book but a bit on the short side. If you want a good fun story, this is one to get. It left me with a warm fuzzy feeling and looking forward to book 3.

Zach and his father are trying to settle into their new surroundings, getting to know their new neighbors and get their lodge ready for summertime guests. The lodge is strange territory and rumored to be haunted. Combine the strange nightly noises with a sudden surge of power outages makes for an interesting place to live. Oh and then there are the aliens 'observing them'. It is a good read, fun, clean and appropriate for all age groups for those wondering. Well worth every penny.

4.0 out of 5 stars You don't get left hanging May 18, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is 2nd in the series. I wrote a review of the first one here - forgetting this was the 2nd one. It's kind of about remembering the names of all the books I read, but not complete. The first book in the series was more memorable. I can't tell you why though. I read another review that says they are loosing steam - that person had read the first three, but refuse to buy #4 till it was cheaper.

I think the 2nd book is a little less action packed, a little more people oriented. I still liked it when I was reading it, and I plan to buy the 3rd book. But it's been a couple of months since I read the 2nd one (because life gets in the way of reading)and I don't remember much of what happened. I remember what happened in the first book well.

I still know that the 2nd book didn't leave me hanging. I don't know that I would have enjoyed the 2nd book without the first, but there was no cliffhanger at the end that left me feeling jipped because I had to go buy a new book to get the rest of the story! I really hate that! This book does not do that. It's interesting, but it ends gently.

More About the Author

It's said I was launched into space from birth and I haven't been back to Earth since.

There might be some truth in that.

As a reader I love science fiction with great plots, interesting characters, exotic locales, all accompanied by a sense of wonder with optimistic endings. As a writer, I love the same.

I love to visit with other science fiction fans, so come on by and say hello.
