This film, the sequel to "Welcome to Planet Earth" (aka Alien Avengers), is funny, but not as funny as the original. This review is from: Aliens Among Us (aka Alien Avengers II) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This film, the sequel to "Welcome to Planet Earth" (aka Alien Avengers), is funny, but not as funny as the original. While it retains most of the original cast, with the exception of the role of Rhonda, which is now played by Julie Brown, the screenplay is a little too ham handed to make for a complete success. Still, it makes for some laughs.

Here, Rhonda (Julie Brown) and her husband, Charlie (George Wendt), finally get out of prison for having imposed their vigilante style justice on a number of undesirables. Oblivious to the error of their ways, they go on their merry way and end up in the town of Justice, Arizona, where livestock is being killed in a ritualistic manner. The local yokels are blaming it on aliens, rumors that are being fueled by real estate developers in hopes of buying dirt cheap the properties of those yokels who panic.

Charlie and Rhonda aren't the least bit disturbed by the rumors. After all, they are aliens themselves. Meanwhile, their daughter, Daphne (Anastasia Sakelaris), unbeknownst to them, is returning to Earth with her Earthling husband, Joseph (Christopher M. Brown), in order to bring her parents home to their planet. In between the parties connecting with the each other, mayhem rules in Justice, and before you know it, Rhonda and Charlie find themselves deputized as sheriffs, in hope of bringing law and order to the town. There is nothing that these alien vigilantes would like more.

Playing by their own rules, which are formulated upon their own skewed perceptions, Charlie and Rhonda rout out the evil doers. In the meantime, Daphne and Joseph have their own little adventures. This does make for some very funny scenes, but they are few and far between. Still, those viewers who enjoyed the prequel will, undoubtedly, enjoy this sequel.
