5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, family Friendly, Fast read! March 19, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Jasmine Energy Book 1 is a fun and entertaining Young Adult Science Fiction/Romance story. The Characters in the story are all around the age of 16, yet the maturity of the majority of characters rates much higher, making the story easy for even Adults to relate to, because you don't have to suffer through immature, whiny and tantrum throwing teenagers.

The book continually has quite a bit of mystery that surrounds Yumi and her housemates. I was always trying to figure out what the mystery was, but the answer was always just out of reach until the last few chapters when it all started to play out. There are always a lot of questions you have about the characters, the story line and back story, and it keeps you drawn in as you are searching for the answers. The story reads fast, as it is only 203 pages, and I was able to basically read it in one day.

Jasmine Energy Book 1 also has a very mild romance in the story; which gives just enough to make any teenage girl happy, mild enough to make Moms happy at the clean content, and small enough to not chase away the male readers! I don't know if a teenaged boy would enjoy Energy, but I'm certain teenaged girls, moms who like YA fiction and also Men who like YA fiction will enjoy it. This is a book I can see the Husband enjoying because it has just enough Mystery and Science Fiction to keep him intrigued.

As I mention, Jasmine Energy Book 1 is clean of sexual content, there is one kiss in the book, and no other content. The language is also rated G, so it is great for those that prefer squeaky clean, family friendly stories.

Jasmine Energy Book 1 definitely is a book that will entertain and leave you wanting more! In fact, take it as good or bad, the ending is quite the cliff hanger, and you are left with a lot of questions still unanswered. This is great to keep the reader wanting to jump right into the very next book; but bad when the book is not released yet. Ha! It's been bugging me all day, as I want to immediately dive into Book 2, and it's not published yet! Now if it would have been a single book, without any follow up books scheduled, I would hold this as a negative because I can't stand stories without complete resolution; but seeing as there are more books coming, I see it more as a brilliant strategic move on the authors part to keep the audience needing more!
There were a few typo errors in the manuscript I read, but I often find those in professionally published books ALL the time, but figured I should let you be aware of this if it is a huge deal breaker for you. But really when you run into them, it is easy to know what the real word was suppose to be, and you aren't stumped to move on with the story.

3.0 out of 5 stars Gothic Mom's Book Review January 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Today's review is on Energy Book 1: Jasmine

Jasmine is the first book that I have read form this author, and was a nice change from the other paranormal type books that I usually read.

Jasmine is a 16 year-old girl who's life is in constant flux. Due to her father's top secret job in the military, they move frequently. Because of this, Jasmine has learned to fade in with the background. To not make friends, and keep to herself. That all changes however, when her and her father move to Omaha, Nebraska.

During Art class, Jasmine meets Yumi and has an unexplainable feeling that she has known her before. Yuim too, feels the same. She feels that somehow Jasmine will be the key to "the mission" she and her friends are on. She just has to convince them of that too, but it won't be easy.

It's only when Yumi is sick for a few days does Jasmine find out the truth about this group of friends. Not only are they rude, and mean, they're not even human.

This promises to be an interesting series. My only complaints are that first, Jasmine didn't find out that they were not human until almost the very end, and second, there were a bit more editing mistakes than I would have liked. (Though I don't like to see any in a published work.)
There is definitely room for improvement, and I will be looking for it in book 2.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story, Where's Book Two?! April 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Jasmine is upset because her father who is a colonel is moving once again for some secret undercover matter on an Air Force Base in Omaha. For once in her life, she wants real friends, a permanent home and like all teenage girls, a boyfriend. Then by chance she meets this girl Yumi and they have a strong connection and are best friends. Yumi's friends strangely don't like Jasmine. One day she finds out their secret....
I enjoyed reading this book. Jasmine's character was well defined. I could feel the pain of her loneliness and of having a father who is too involved in his work and not in her life.
I loved her faithfulness, being a friend to Yumi even though Yumi's friends highly discouraged it. One of the characters (who I hate) takes it to the point of violence. There's a lesson in this story about trying to make someone your friend who doesn't want to. Good part to add in. The end of the book was fantastic! I'm like, no doubt, Jasmine is going to have two guys chasing her. Then, there's the other things I'm only guessing, but will have to wait for the answers. Those who read this book I know are asking: Why, does Jasmine, a human have a connection with an alien? Why, is her father all of a sudden interested in her life? What is the true purpose of why these teenage aliens are on earth? There's only one thing wrong with book one. Book two is not available.
My bff is an author, and I've been waiting 'years' for book three of a great series that is only now available! Another author wrote a terrific romance introducing book number two's characters who not only have great passionate conflict, but humor as well. Her book is not done, the last time I asked, she's still working on it. **Important Note To Authors Who Write Good Books: Please Do Not Release Book One Without Having The Sequels Available To Purchase!** I'm sure all those who love a great book and want to continue reading the story, will all agree with me.

More About the Author

I'm a ninja disguised as a homeschooling mom, former literary publicist, craft-aholic and all around reading diva. Really, I kick down doors -no, wait, that was my husband when I locked us out of the house . . . Well, I engage in combat on a regular basis -online when I play MMORPGs with my children . . . OK, maybe I'm not a real ninja but my husband says I stole his heart. Does that count? No? Shoot.

Well, I love reading and I love writing. I think imagination is the biggest advantage a child can get in life and I try to allow my children many opportunities to expand theirs every day.

I love teaching authors how to avoid publishing traps and scams as well as how to market themselves and their works. Some of the biggest honors of my life are the times I've been asked to present to writers groups across the nation. There is nothing better in life than giving someone information that helps them become successful.

I also take a few hours each week and create jewelry, make lotions or paint something. I have little creation stations scattered through the house. My daughter gets into it a lot and scatters things which drives my husband crazy but remember how I mentioned that he says I stole his heart? Yeah. I'm not giving it back. He's stuck with me forever. Bwah ha ha ha!
