Alison is living the perfect life. She has a handsome, wealthy husband, a gorgeous house in the L.A. hills, teaches fifth grade-just for fun-and she is still young and beautiful, with an active social life. Alison is the envy of all her friends. But, beneath the surface, Alison's husband, Eric, is an abusive monster. Able to take no more, Alison flees her "perfect life" with only her clothes, her car and two cats. On a mad dash across the country, she lands in Grabill, a backwoods Ohio town with seemingly little to offer an L.A. sophisticate. But if anyone knows that appearances are deceiving, Alison does. So, she takes her chances on Grabill and, eventually, mechanic Tyler Coffey, embarking on a journey of a whole other kind. Alison's Journey is the touching story of a woman who finds that, rather than having run away, she has come home. Debut author Amey S. Allison's Journey by Amey Tippett takes you along on the journey of a brave young woman. A victim of domestic violence, Allison gets the courage to walk away. As this journey leads her to a place of peace and love, Allison finds herself being stalked by a husband that refuses to let go.
Amey Tippett does an excellent job of pulling you into the story. Allison's Journey is a good read, definitely one for my library. ~Laura E. Holman, author of Behind the Mask

Alison's Journey written by very talented story-teller Amey S. Tippett is a wonderful read. This great story is of a young woman smart enough to walk away from her painful past and start a new, brighter future. The main character, Alison, walks away from her very rich lifestyle and all of it's horrible nightmares and embraces the brighter future she finds in a smaller, saner world. Along the way she overcomes the many obstacles of the world as well as within her own self.
I found this to be a truly inspiring read and a well planned story that encompasses many areas of emotional and personal growth. This wonderful book is not only an inspirational piece but a gripping love story as well. I felt myself being captivated by the story, the characters, and the wonderful town that Alison now calls home. I would recommend this book as one of the better releases of the year. After reading Amey Tippetts book Allisons Journey, I find myself lucky to have a relationship like the one I have. This is a story of one womans struggle to leave an abusive relationship and believe in herself again. Taking the abuse for the last time she runs away and finds not only a new town, new friends and a new love, she finds herself. For any woman who needs a little courage of their own this is a must read.
