5.0 out of 5 stars DVD TOTALLY WORTH BUYING
This is a show that was performed at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, NJ on June 3, 2005. I was there, bought the t-shirt to prove it, and to this day it has been one of the greatest concerts I have ever been too. The boys sounded just as good as they did in the 80's, and seeing Joey back on stage with them was incredible. The pits were great, and the crowd was...

1.0 out of 5 stars Almost perfect
Anthrax reunionn is awesome! It is great seeing the boys back together and they sound awesome. Now for the complaints: First ONLY 13 songs! This is unacceptable and seems quite short when compared to the john bush DVD that they released earlier. I wonder why they didn't do what megadeth and overkill did and film extra shows so the fans could get all their favorite songs...

5.0 out of 5 stars DVD TOTALLY WORTH BUYING, September 1, 2005

This is a show that was performed at the Starland Ballroom in Sayerville, NJ on June 3, 2005. The boys sounded just as good as they did in the 80's, and seeing Joey back on stage with them was incredible. The pits were great, and the crowd was wild, but most of all Anthrax played exceptionally well. They opened up with Among The Living, and closed the night with I Am The Law. Do not miss out on buying this, it will be some of the best moeny you ever spend.

4.0 out of 5 stars More songs would have = a 5 star review, September 25, 2005
This review is from: Alive 2: The DVD (DVD)
Most die hard fans have been waiting for this and here it is. A reunion concert with Joey and Dan. I was fearful Joey wouldn't be able to sing the songs as well, but I was impressed. His voice showed its age only a few times, otherwise he was on point. As for the rest of the band...they sounded tight as ever!! The mix of the dvd is great overall...guitars could have been bit louder. My ONLY complaint is that its obvious they edited out a few songs. Wish they would have filmed a few more shows to get 8-10 more classics to include.

This DVD rocks! The best thing about it, besides the good camerawork with the Pasonic DVX 100's and the sound, is the EDITING. No quick cuts, no spinning, no headaches or nausea. Great creative job by whoever was behind this. And killer show. I was there..

5.0 out of 5 stars Man, was this a pleasant surprise!!!, September 23, 2005
This review is from: Alive 2: The DVD (DVD)
When I had read this was coming out, I knew I'd pick it up and like with most "reunion" type releases, I think you normally hope that it gives you a little spark of recognition as to why you were so into the band in the first place and hope that the passage of time hasn't made the reunion too embarassing... for you or the band.

I was figuring exactly that with the Anthrax reunion. I thought it'll be nice to hear Joey singing the old ones again and I've always missed Danny's playing (one of my favorite guitarists of the era). I never expected it to be genuinely good.

Oh, I was greatly mistaken. They sound fantastic. Joey's voice is nearly as good as it was 20 years ago and they sound as tight live as the did in their heyday of the late 80's. I can't recommend this one enough. Welcome back guys. I don't think I even realized how much I've missed you until this release.

This is a SICK SHOW. Anthrax gets back to their roots here, and lays down one incredible live show here. All of the old classics are performed, and they don't miss a beat. The original line-up, and one kick as set....

What are you waiting for?? This is a classic peice of Metal History, BUY IT ALREADY!!!!

Let me just say that i was at this show and its great that they captured it almost entirely on this dvd perfectly. They left out the little Dime tribute thing they did and Got The Time but other then that this is it. It looks and sounds killer and Joey hasn't aged a day. A must have for any Anthrax or classic thrash fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anthrax Live, October 27, 2010
This review is from: Alive 2: The DVD (DVD)
This DVD is an absolute must have for any fan of Thrash Metal. Anthrax put on one hell of a performance, playing music from their classic 85-91 period with Joey Belladonna back behind the mic and Dan Spitz on lead guitar for the first time in many years.
The performance is amazing, the music sounds fresh and very heavy; the crowd are enthusiastic and the audio and video quality are top notch.
This is one of the most enjoyable thrash DVDs on the market; the band are so energetic and really get into the spirit of things and give it everything they've got.
On top of the amazing dvd, this set also comes with a cd of the majority of the concert so you can listen to it in the car.
Songs like `Time,' `Medusa,' and `Lone Justice,' are great to hear live, and on top of that all the fan favorites you'd expect from `Madhouse,' to `Caught in a Mosh,' are present and accounted for, with extra little breakdowns and flourishes added to spice things up. The band even throw in a furious performance of `Death Rider,' which Joey makes his own.
If you like Anthrax you really ought to get this, and if you're new to the band this is a fantastic place to start; a great set list, a tonne of energy and great production... what more could you want ?

4.0 out of 5 stars "NOT" what you may expect, January 21, 2006
This review is from: Alive 2: The DVD (DVD)
Yeah, it was really, really cool to experience this DVD! OK so the sound is great, visuals great, camerawork was competent but during the concert, they hardly ever showed SPITZ at all...and the little hercules went and got all JACKED up and didn't even get airtime. What's that about? The phobic closet Danny lover/haters? Bad choice not showing the DAN!! ALso, there were some points where Joey didn't really seem convinced of what he was saying as crowd talk filler. I believe from what I can see and hear of Joey for him to be a pretty nice and straight up guy. Maybe I might've remembered hearing something about that reunion tour not lasting or someone dropping out? I need clearance and closure on this. So, someone up top set me straight on this, I'm not going to their website. Buy the dvd.
Anthrax rock the living ace outtof the set. Some songs missing...whatever, I'm just glad about this event! I notice a lot of posters go on to "bitch" or "pee and moan" about details like picture quality and SUPERPAPHONIC STEREO DEREO SOUND and things like that not being up to their standars and for that reason...don't buy the product. Dude...you sound like my ex girlfriend..you know, it's not really too cool for "guys" to sound like chicks. OK? I assume most reviewers are guys like me. Maybe not. No money involved. Sounds good. Money to buy the dvd, maybe, huh? Oh yeah.

Charlie Benante seems like sort of a low key grudgedickens, but whatever. He's a bastage of a drummer! Bello struk me as being kind of annoying as hell too what, what, whatever. No one lays it down like Frank Bello. I used to rock these guys on my toshiba back in 89 with Among the living on paperroutes and anywhere else!!
Crazy too think that these guys were such a huge/almost bloodstream influence for so many cool people, like the fans!!
Buy this product even though I ended up contradicting myself about being a nitpickin' bitchnaz.
