Kainos (the Greek word for new creation) brings a bold sound to your speakers with their debut album Alive. Husband and wife team Ben and Hannah Stacy are Kainos, a band dedicated to bringing a positive message to today's youth. Hannah has a very powerful sound that is reminiscent of Gwen Stefani from No Doubt. Her vocal lines rise and fall in arcs, and she usually tapers off each phrase with a drop in pitch. The result is a passionate "crying out" that matches the lyrical content. Ben also sings on the album and compliments his wife's tone. The music is guitar driven (Ben), with an aggressive feel. Grace is a big theme for Kainos. In many of their songs, they challenge the listener to be real with God and submit to His leadership in their lives (Make it Loud, Layin' it Down, Will You Save Me). Ben also explores the theme of God's love through the experience of the love a husband and wife have for each other (You and I, Alive). If you enjoy sizzling guitar, powerful vocals and an uncompromising message, you will like the music of Kainos. Enjoy!

I have seen Kainos live several times and they just keep getting better. Everyone kept asking when they were going to come out with a CD, and here it is! It was well worth the wait in my humble opinion. Just give this CD a listen, and you can tell right away that Kainos is very passionate about what they do. The musicianship is top notch, and the lyrics are thought provoking. Plus, the lead singer Hannah Stacy has one of the best female rock voices I have heard in a long time.

Kainos has a very good album. The vocals are great and the music is awesome. This is a solid album. If you like good rock bands, this is an album you have to hear!
