3.0 out of 5 stars fun music, short changed! December 5, 2002
Format:Audio CD
Tighter Tighter is one of the sweeter bubble gum songs from the 60's but I loved the "B" cut on the single "Sonday Mornin'"so why on this cd it is cut to less than 30 seconds?,I was very dissapointed to say the least!

5.0 out of 5 stars Tighter & Tighter December 17, 2005
Format:Audio CD
"Tighter & Tighter" by Alive & Kicking (1970) is one of my all time favorite songs, and I was happy to see the album in a CD format (I have the LP, but no longer have a turntable). Someone please tell Amazon this is NOT A LIVE album, as this is how they have it advertised.

3.0 out of 5 stars One Huge 1970 Hit ... Then Virtual Oblivion February 19, 2013
Format:Audio CD
This 1970s Pop/Rock gathering from New York City (male vocalist Pepe Cardona, female vocalist Sandy Toder, guitarist John Pariso, organist Bruce Sudano, bassist Thomas "Woody" Wilson and drummer Vito Albana) had one main claim to fame, that being their summer 1970 # 7 Billboard Pop Hot 100 smash Tighter, Tighter which came out on Roulette R-7078 b/w Sunday Morning.

They were discovered while performing at a small club by Tommy James who convinced his label, Roulette, to give them a shot. At first he considered letting them record one of his compositions, Crystal Blue Persuasion, but then decided upon another he had co-written with Bob King, Tighter, Tighter. Initially billed with the spelling Alive And Kicking, that was changed to Alive ‘N Kickin’ with their second single, Just Let It Come, which struggled to # 69 that same October on Roulette R-7087 b/w Mother Carey’s Chicken.

After London Bridge/You Gave Me Something (Roulette R-7094) and Good Ole Lovin’ Back Home/Junction Creek (Roulette R-7113) both failed, and due to ongoing difficulties with the label and especially owner Morris Levy, the band broke up at the end of 1971. All eight sides of their four singles are in this Collectables 1998 release which is a reproduction of their lone 1970 vinyl album Roulette SR-42052 with “bonus” tracks at 10, 11 and 12 which were not part of the original LP.

Two reviewers comment on the shortness (around 30 seconds) of Sunday Morning, but that is exactly how it appeared in the LP which had these sides: A1. Tighter, Tighter (2:45); A2. Junction Creek (4:00); A3. Jordan (3:29); A4. Kentucky Fire (5:10); A5. Sunday Morning (0:30); B1. Just Let It Come (3:09); B2. Mississippi Mud (5:42); B3. Hitter Man (4:34); B4. Mother Carey's Chicken (4:28).

1.0 out of 5 stars one song only! February 17, 2011
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
this is one sorry excuse for a cd! one song..."Tighter,Tighter" worth listening to. but a good song from the past. shows they have talent, but choose not to even bother. this should be a 2.99 bargain basement deal. no other song on the thing is event decent! and i paid 13.99 for this? save your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved The B-Side October 1, 2007
Format:Audio CD
I bought this lp a while back, long after getting the single (when it was first released). I loved "Sunday Morning", the B side, and was disappointed that the whole song did NOT appear on the album. It was only a snippet. Other than that, the lp is classic.

4.0 out of 5 stars Alive N Kickin' July 1, 2014
By T. Bing

If youthink about the days of tye dyed T shirts a host of issues that required protest, and driving cross country in a $700.00 beetle or bus, this music brings that back.
