Product Description

Alkaline Battery Recharger for Alkaline Battery Recharger for AAA, AA, C and D-size batteries Your Alkaline Battery Recharger employs advanced technology to maximize the useful life of alkaline batteries. By using this device you will save money on replacement batteries and benefit the environment. Alkaline Battery Recharger can charge four common sizes of batteries (AAA, AA, C and D-size batteries). That's right, this useful battery charger accepts all standard alkaline batteries (except 9Volt). This re-charger charges: 4 AAA or AA batteries, 2 C or D batteries or 2 AAA or AA and 1 C or D batteries at one time. Alkaline batteries can typically be recharged between 5 to 10 times before they lose their ability to retain a charge. With each successive charge their ability to retain a charge will be diminished. The Alkaline Battery Recharger automatically analyzes any battery placed into it (except 9V). If the battery is no longer operational, the Recharger will display "EXHAUSTED". Please dispose of exhausted batteries in an environmentally friendly manner. The Recharger will also automatically detect when a battery has reached its maximum charge. The display will indicate "MAX CHARGE" together with 1 to 5 bars of charge. As a battery's ability to retain charge is diminished, the amount of bars illuminated at the "MAX CHARGE" stage will also decrease. Due to variables in the battery manufacturing process, batteries may diminish or become exhausted at different rates. Each item is individually tested at our warehouse prior to shipment. Plugs in to your your common house plug for added convenience. *Batteries in photo not included.

Alkaline batteries are great, except for one aspect. Manufacturers tell you to dispose of the batteries when they are worn down. Now, the Alkaline Recharger will allow you to recharge worn alkaline batteries. Some, up to 10 times. Typically, it takes about five hours for this charger to charge a depleted battery, It really works. Sometimes the charger doesn't realize a battery is incapable of holding a charge until it has tried to charge it for several hours. That is one of the only shortcomings of this product.
There is a warning for this charger; only charge alkaline batteries. It is not intended for rechargeable batteries, nor standard or long-life cells. It can charge AAA, AA, C or D cells. It would have been nice if it could handle 9 volt batteries, but what can you do?
This charger can save you some money and help reduce some waste too. A really handy tool.

Put in 3 "super heavy duty" AAA cells @ 1.32v. It charged them for a few minutes then said "Full". But they only increased to 1.37v. Useless.

Tried 3 other heavy duty AAAs @ 1.31v. Wouldn't charge them at all. Said "Exausted". Totally useless.

Tried several D "Alkaline" batteries @ 1 volt. It began charging any placed in the left side, but none in the right side. Two of them increased from 1.0v to 1.18v, the third one from 1,0v to 1.21v. Useless again.

This time needed 2 different name-brand AA alkalines charged. First one charged from 1.36v to 1.49v. Good. Second one went from 1.37v to 1.47v. Good.

A few weeks later after that one of them leaked in a flashlight. The other is still fine. This is why manufacturers say not to rechare them.

I've seen top-brand alkaline batteries recharged. Durracell Energizer Rayovac and the cheapo Super Heavy Duty brands. For each brand a few leaked and a few didn't.

Alkalines don't like being recharged, except the rechargable alkalines.

So this charger does poorly with batteries that are more than half dead, but works good with ones that haven't been drained much.

The idea of an Alkaline battery recharger was Wonderful! This one didn't last very long, 2 - 3 days, then it died. The company make things right with us!

I was impressed with how well this charger charged my alkaline batteries. Problem is it worked for only a few weeks. It still lights up and all but it goes to blinking on and off as if the lid isnt closed. I tried different "fixes" with no result, leaving me to conclude the defect is internal, the control-sensor chip maybe?

This is a rip off! It takes about 4 hrs to charge a battery (or set of batteries). Once charged they last for a minimal time. We have a battery tester & they never get up to full charge...even though the icon on the recharger says "Max charge" Sometimes it says "battery exhausted", but if you try again they may start charging...you just never know. We have some battery-powered candles & new batteries only last about a month, so we thought it would be great for charging these. But batteries that we re-charged with this unit only lasted 2 days. If I could have I would have rated this "0" zero, zilch, nada, etc.

I'm thrilled at the idea of recharging Alkaline batteries. I have a toddler! Unfortunately this guy isn't well made. The springs that are used to hold the batteries in aren't strong enough. When charging multiple batteries, this is especially problematic as one won't make proper electrical contact and is likely to either fail to charge or to leak. Back in the old days of the over-priced Radio Shack chargers, those springs were so strong I could barely get the batteries into the units. One of their few redeeming qualities. One of the charging bays stopped working within a week. I kept it, though, since the others performed fine. My unit finally failed after a few months, but it had a rough life. I'm going to try a different brand charger next time.

This item works on many alkaline batteries. However, it does not recharge rechargeable batteries, only alkaline ones. And the unit s finicky with regards to brand of battery; must be a known brand - Samsung, Sony, Panasonic, Duracell, Energizer, Phillips not an unknown brand.

If you use a ton of batteries as I do, this will save you a great deal of money. I have recharged AA and D batteries and it will be a long time before I need to buy any new batteries. Really a bargain and a snap to use.
