Alkaline Battery Will this charger recharge Alkaline Batteries?

No unless you want to see ashes for the home you live in. Never do something a product was never intended to do. Nicads and Nimhs. Only!

As a rule, you should NOT use any charger designed for NiMH/NiCd cells to recharge alkaline cells.

In this particular case, the BC-700 will terminate charging when the battery voltage gets too high. But then the trickle current (5% of charging current) will continue to charge up the battery until it either raptures or leaks.
