A great little book about alligators. The language is geared towards third graders but with a little explanation this works well for smaller kids as well. It gives an opportunity to talk about very interesting aspects about alligators such as their life cycle as well as various adaptations that they possess. Of course, the ecological importance of these animals is also emphasized. All of this in conjunction with a series of beautiful water color illustrations by Arnosky. I cannot wait to explore other books in this series. I can certainly highly recommend this book to all families interested in natural history. A gem!
