the lighter side of dating,

i have bought several dating books, and the only thing i have learned is that nothing works across the board. women are so different and varied depending on social class, upbringing, geography, religion, and other factors that it's really hard to nail anything. this book attempts to isolate personalities based on names and appearances, which is probably the closest i've seen to accurate yet, since as the author says these are "conscious decisions". based on his initial clues based on things like hairstyles, clothes and even glasses, the author says to evaluate objectively. i have to admit, it is better than going in blind. at least you've got something to talk about! the author seems to have done his homework, having some kind of opinion on "chicks" of almost any size, color, creed, or hair color. his "weird glasses" and "short hair" descriptions are right on! the author offers many ways to break the ice, but he missed the best one of them all: use THIS BOOK! my friends and i have brought this book to bars and women cannot resist asking what it says about them in it. we've met several ladies this way! if you're looking for the magic pill, give up now, it just doesn't exist. overall, this is a really thought provoking book. dating can be depressing, so i'm glad this was much lighter than all of the others.

First of all, this Fresh guy pulls no punches. The book's style resembles sitting in a neighborhood bar and having a light-hearted chat about women over several drinks. But that's what makes this book so much fun! The author has done his homework, as he details several nuances that I missed on my own. His 'name analysis' section was my favorite part; my friends and I now actively search for women named 'Kimberly.' Great tips for places for dates and sneaky little things you can do to break the ice and come off looking like one of those cute movie situations. There's often irreverent information in this book you just won't find anywhere else. I originally gave this book 4 stars, but now that I'm thinking about it, I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long while. We're passing it around the office and the women both love it and hate it. In my book, anything that evokes this kind of response deserves 5 stars!

I bought this book and it is ok. Mr. fresh gives some good advice but it lacks alot of detail. He says to go up to woman and do what is called a "controlled conflict". This is basically pissing a girl off then winning her back. Maybe in PA where he is from this might work, but in socal this would get you into some serious trouble. He also says to catch up on current events and"chick shows" so you will have good convo material. He also says not to spoil woman. I went through it in about 30 minutes.I am still looking for a good dating book. Good luck fellas.

I've read several books on the dating process. I've got a good idea where to go, what to say, how to act, etc. But this book was different; it's the first and only book I've seen that explains how to approach different types of girls. The author explains different personality traits that can often be derived by manner of dress, hair styles, ethnicity, and even by name! The most interesting thing I found was the author's "name analysis," which as hard as it was to believe, I happened to agree with in about 8 of 10 situations. I would have never thought a woman's name offers insights into her personal traits, but I'll be darned! He also adds some original humorous things to do, as well as advice about good and bad places to get to know a girl. Overall, it's a terrific book that's interesting, informative, lots of fun. Recommended reading for other guys surfing the dating seas.

Chuck Fresh provides wonderful information for guys looking for companionship. Great inside information that helps you understand what women are looking for and how to win them over. I've even slowly implemented some of his suggestions, and they work! I now have confidence to at least approach women, which before was very difficult. I'm looking forward to using some of your sex tips too, keep them coming back for more.

As made clear in the synopsis this book is based on personal experience and opinion. The sections categorizing women because of the way they look has some truth to it. But judging a woman by her name and to say a particular woman is loose or ditsy because of it is pure crap. It was an amusing read, but I felt kind of like a jackass for reading it.

I don't normally write reviews on websites, but this particular book warrants a few choice words. My girlfriend happened to get her hands on this book before I did. Normally, this wouldn't be a bad thing, but now she wants me to practice about half of what this book recommends! I was a wild stud in high school and college with more girlfriends than I could ever count. Now, I'm in my mid 30's and still single, so I've read about five books on dating and relationships so far to figure out if I am the cause of my own situation. This book was far and away my favorite. Most of the other titles concentrate on bending the truth simply to get laid. But as we all find out eventually, sex isn't always the key to a great relationship. It sure as heck helps, but it isn't a solid foundation to build upon. The author has a wild sense of humor, which he insists you too will need to find happiness. He's right. I used to think I had to be serious with women to be taken seriously, and I'm now learning that's not necessarily the way to go. Secondly, the author recommends that you have some kind of meaningful relevant conversation. A simple, painfully obvious, but brilliant revelation - I would have never thought to read what they're reading or watch the same television shows they're watching. It's kind of bizarre, but I've subscribed to Cosmopolitan and watched several Julia Roberts movies, and since I've opened my eyes, I'm learning a tremendous amount about what makes women tick. Finally, there seems to be some kind of hidden semantics that relates how a woman looks or dresses to her personality. Once we men know what we'll settle for, we can begin to use these clues to narrow down our "contestants." The hints are surprisingly enlightening, and I'd venture to say more than half are fairly accurate. This book is humorous, but it's also smart, revealing and thought provoking. If you're not careful, you might just learn something between the chuckles. Just don't let your girlfriend get her hands on it...

A great book! I wish I had this a long time ago, I would have had a lot more fun through high school and college. Whether you shy or aggressive; this book is for everyone. It is informative as well as fun to easy to read. Technology has changed in the dating world and this book give pointers on how to keep up with it. Most of the tips the author presents are the unspoken proven "secrets" that successful dating men have been using for years to meet women. It's about time someone printed them up! The author goes over everything from how to meet women, where to meet them, what they want in a relationship, and much more. Oh yeah, Chapter 99 is hilarious.
