Disappointed,
By
This review is from: All About Men (Mass Market Paperback)
Like the previous reviewer I would have liked to know before hand that all three of these stories had already been published. Next time when I don't see a description of the book I won't buy it.
I really tend to like this author so I've already sought her out and have read all of the stories featured here in other anthologies. "All Through The Night", "I Brake For Bad Boys", and finally "Bad Boys Next Exit" are, I think, where these stories can also be found. Although I liked each of the stories in this book I too have given it 2 stars for not stating that the stories it contained were already published. The first story, Something Wild, is about a woman on a road trip that keeps seeing a man on a motorcycle on her route. Flirting leads to something more. Meltdown is about Jane, a headhunter, who uses deception to get an appointment to recruit a prospective candidate. Unfortunately, she's passed off onto Mac and ends up in a sticky situation. Touch Me, is the last story. Jonah is a rich client of Tess, a massage therapist. After being turned down every time he's asked her out he gets her to agree to come to his mountain retreat to work a house party that turns out to be a party for two. This one was my least favorite.

"Something Wild"
Annie Simon is on her way back to the Black Cat Casino where she once won the jackpot. She's running from her abusive ex-boyfriend, desperate to start over. Annie is traveling from Philadelphia to Louisiana in her beat up truck carrying not much more than an old sleeping bag and a tent. Jacob Kerr spotted Annie at a restaurant in Philadelphia and has been following her for days. He's got her attention now, but she still won't pull over. He finally gets a chance to talk to Annie when he follows her to a diner and once he does, Jacob is even more convinced that the strong connection he feels toward Annie needs exploring, but Annie needs convincing. Jacob's seductive assault convinces Annie they're great in bed but she's not sure about anything else. Jacob's tenacity is charming and his forcefulness is sexy. When he combines his dominant side with his tender side, he's irresistible. Annie is strong willed and tough but Jacob's relentless desire crumbles her defenses. "Something Wild" is a fast-paced erotic ride!. "Meltdown" Jane Duvall is a headhunter attempting to steal Gary Finely away from Crowne Royalty Group. Jane poses as a writer looking to write an article on luxury accommodations to get inside the hotel. Once there she meets the CEO of Crowne Royalty Group, Michael MacNamara. After a brief tour, Jane and Mac are exploring each other's bodies. As good as it feels between them, Jane feels guilty about lying to Mac. Mac already knows though, and he's not letting Jane go until he's had his fill of her. What starts out as just sex becomes something much deeper in "Meltdown," and it ends with forever. The story took a turn I wasn't expecting and the intensity of the emotions was wonderful. "Meltdown" is a very erotic romance. "Touch Me" Tess Langley is a massage therapist. Jonah Markham is one of her clients. Although Tess is very attracted to Jonah and he's asked her out, Tess declines. She doesn't want to be another notch on his belt. Jonah is determined so he stages a house party to get Tess alone for the weekend. Tess is angry when she find out he lied to her but he convinces her to stay when he promises her a night she'll never forget. Jonah's intense therapy does more than relax Tess. It makes her uninhibited and changes her life. I love that Tess didn't think she could have a guy like Jonah and that Jonah only had eyes for her. "Touch Me" is full of emotion and sizzling sex. Jacob, Mac, and Josiah are experts in the art of seduction. They are very male and very sexy. Annie, Jane, and Tess are just the right combination of sweet and strong to handle them. Shannon McKenna always writes fantastic stories with tons of intensity. All About Men is no exception. You get three for the price of one with this anthology! Nannette reviewed for Joyfully Reviewed

It is not mentioned anywhere, but these 3 stories have all been in other anthologies. I am giving this book 2 stars, because the stories are all good, but I sure would have appreciated knowing that they were all reprints before purchasing this book.

I adore Shannon McKenna. I wish there were more authors like her out there. She tests the line between men and women and it's SO hot. I love how real her character's are. I hope she has many more to come.

I was much dismayed to discover that this book contains 3 stories formerly printed in Anthologies. It should be noted in the description of the book when there are repetitions like this.

Yes, this is a collection of short stories that's already been published in previous books. And no, I could have cared less because I've never read any of them before so I was as happy as a pig in......
Something Wild: Annie Simon has just left her abusive boyfriend. She had enough one day and grabbed what she could and ran. Along the way to the Black Cat Casino, where she's hoping to make enough to fund another future, she makes a meandering trail through the various parks and scenic trails along the East Coast. Also along the way she picked up a fan. An obsessed fan, who keeps cruising along her wake on a gorgeous Harley. Jacob Kerr has been following Annie, just trying to get her to talk to him. When he finally does get past her prickly defenses, he comes on hard and fast, dominant and possessive. He's relentless in forcing Annie to accept him and despite her reticence, her defenses don't stand a chance. This little novella came on incredibly strong. Jacob Kerr was almost too much man for me. I think I would have needed a restraining order on this guy. I don't see how he was ever going to let her go. Kind of creepy, but since it all worked out, I guess it was good. The visceral image of a guy punching through a wall has always intimidated me so maybe that's why I was almost afraid of Jacob. He's definitely hot and his sexuality is smokin, but he kind of freaked me out. Plus, Annie was already running from a scary guy to begin with. :/ Meltdown: Jane Duvall is a headhunter and she's on the hunt for Mr. Finley from Crowne Royale. Using her best acting skills, she lies her way past the receptionist but when she gets there, Mr. Finley isn't in, but wouldn't she rather meet the CEO of the company, Michael MacNamara? Trapped, Jane has no choice but to brazen it out and when she meets Michael, their instantaneous chemistry is palpable and electrifying. What started out as just instant chemistry, quickly became obsession in the best kind of way. I loved this one. Something Wild was the appetizer and Meltdown was an absolutely delicious main course. I just sank my teeth into this gorgeous hunk of man and I loved Jane, too. Mac was obsessive without being scary and his sexuality made me melt. His attempts to win Jane over was incredibly sweet and romantic and I wish this could have been a full length novel. I loved it and I recommend you read this anthology for this novella alone. Touch Me: Jonah has alot going on right now and when his secretaries and doctor recommend he get some R&R, Tess Langley is the lucky massage therapist who gets to rub her special massage oil all over him. His bid for relaxation immediately backfires when he gets a good look at Tess and as she turns him down time and time again, he comes up with a different strategy. Since gentle coaxing isn't working, he tries manipulation and luring. He sets up a house party that is void of other guests and there he stages his seduction. Wow! And not in a good way. I've never met a more b*tchy heroine before. True, she's got issues and she's been dumped on and belittled by a truly horrendous mother but still. I did not like Tess and she did not deserve someone as wonderful as Jonah. The only thing she should have had coming was a lump of coal in her stocking. Grrrr. It was also not believable that one day she would fly off the handle about every little comment and then the next day be completely past it and secure in Jonah's love, but whatever.

I would appreciate if the publishers would let readers know when books have been previously published. Books are expensive when you have a book habit like I do and I don't appreciate purchasing stories I already own. Other than that I enjoyed the stories as I did the FIRST time I read them.
