This review is from: All About Sex (Paperback)
San is a sweet and innocent 20 year old gay man who first sees Josh as he and his friends pass the older man as they are leaving their favorite disco. Sam is immediately attracted to Josh, and the look he got in return suggests the feeling is mutual. Unfortunately, Josh is pining for his "first love," the sexy and persuasive Alex, whom he caught cheating on him. Alex is back in town, and it looks like Josh isn't entirely over him, much to Sam's chagrin. Sam confides his predicament to his best friend Rachel, who secretly has a crush on Sam and would like nothing better to keep Josh out of his life.

Meanwhile, one of Sam's former dates, Daniel, comes out to his brother and parents, and it is surprising that his father seems to take it as a personal insult.

Jay Mandal's followup to his "Dandelion Clock" (an much overlooked but highly recommended love story) is a rather short (151 pages, with over 70 chapter stops) but well-written, sweet and positive novel about recognizing the difference between sexual chemistry and finding a "soulmate," someone you relate to fully whom you can see yourself spending the rest of your life. Pleasant light read.
