5.0 out of 5 stars I Love the Movie "All About Us"
I was not aware of Michael and Christine Swanson's work before seeing this movie. I loved the movie because it was so real and inspiring. It encourages the audience never to give up on your dreams and to live in the moment, cherishing each moment. And the touching interaction between this young couple is inspirational. I love to see more movies like this that shows...

1.0 out of 5 stars Watching Paint Dry
This was the slowest movie that I have watched in a long time. Who ever handled the marketing did a fabulous job....they fooled me!! The only reason I watched it till the end is because I had paid for it and really hoped that eventually it would get better but it did not. Thumbs down for this.

I love to see more movies like this that shows real true life of a positive role model for all Americans. Depicting American blacks as intelligent, ambitious, creative, progressive individuals with strong family values; strong work ethics and loving relationships; is so need in today's society. I can't wait to see their first movie "All About You", and looking forward to their next movie.

This movie is done similarly to documentary but, quite different. It seems the normal but, it twist. It shows people that are willing to work and see the big picture. It a true story and not the movie you expect. I really like this movie its for the family and couples to share. It gives the chance for relating as people. Its a winner. It has cameo's by two legends african american community Rube Dee and Morgan Freeman. Their roles are small but their impact is Deep! :! If you get the chance, the movie lives up to its title in that its "All About US".

A great family movie about love and endurance. Shows that love can conquer all if you let it. The soundtracks were great.

2.0 out of 5 stars All About Us, October 19, 2008

Did not like. Story line severely lacking. There was a good premise: Promising playwright takes road trip to hunt down famous actor to star in his movie.
Too many missteps from original premise of movie.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the Best Films I've seen in a long time, January 4, 2009
This review is from: All About Us (DVD)
I originally saw 'All About You' at a film festival years ago, and I liked it a lot. So when I picked up 'All About Us' at my local library, I thought, "What the hell, give it a try. Maybe I'll like this as well". Well, I was wrong, I didn't like it...I LOVED IT!!! This movie touches on so many topics, and captures so many different emotions. Anyone who has ever tried to obtain something that they felt was unobtainable will be able to relate to this movie. Also, the film offers quite a few pearls of wisdom. I find myself constantly going over pieces of the dialogue in my head. Mr. & Mrs Swanson, please keep doing what you're doing because contrary to what the movie executives believe the "research" shows, African Americans do like films like these, and in fact, we're starving for them.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great cast, August 14, 2011
This review is from: All About Us (DVD)
If Boris Kodjoe is not already on the Hollywood A-list, he should be. Great actor, drop dead good looks, and enough charisma to charm even the staunchest movie critic.
AS for the movie? I liked the message, but not necessarily the content. Who can argue that love and committment to family is a bad thing? The movie attempted to prove that African Americans do appreciate wholesome movies rather than the trash that is being spoonfed to their community. The female lead, played brilliantly by Ryan Michelle Bathe, is a screenwriter who with her producer husband produce a movie that gets rave reviews at film festivals but fail to secure a distributor. The screenwriter aims to change that by writing a great screenplay in very short time. That done, she is convinced that she has a great product that will sell for sure. All she needs a bankable star. Morgan Freeman comes to mind. She and her husband with their toddler in tow travel to Mississippi to find Mr. Freeman. On the way, they run into obstacles that make them question her obsession with the movie business. In the end, they do run into Mr. Freeman (or someone who looks like him).
The bottom line is that the movie was never made. Why? Because is wasn't good enough? Because it wasn't bankable enough? We will never know, but that is not the important part. What is important is that love and committment to family prevailed.

I did not enjoy this movie at all, found it pretty boring. The story line is pretty boaring, don't recommend it at all, in other words don't waste your money on it.

1.0 out of 5 stars What an Awful Movie, June 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: All About Us (DVD)
This movie is just as it's titled All About Us with the 2 characters throughout the entire movie; how boring!! I couldn't wait to get through this horrible low budget, bad actors/actress movie. A real waste of money in my opinion. What parents in these days leaves a small child/baby in vehicles over and over so they can spend time with each other? My heart hurt for Luke (baby) because of his self-absorbed parents that put themselves and sex above him continually. Bad movie, I would not recommend to anyone to watch this horror film!
