The Only Good Compilation,
By Man With A Mission "J Dog" (Ohizzie I-O) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
The only compilation worth buying is a compilation of all old Bad Religion songs. Period. This CD mixes a variety of songs from "Suffer", "Against the Grain", "No Control", "Generator", and "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?", probably the highlights of Bad Religion's long running career. Personally, I don't think there was ever a dull moment, even with albums like "The New America", "Recipe for Hate", and "No Substance", I think Bad Religion has made every album strong and full of thought and Greg and Brett's own opinions and bits of wisdom (which they have plenty of). But that's another subject matter. "All Ages" combines a lot of great songs off of the before mentioned albums like "Generator", "Anesthesia", "Walk Away", and "Sanity". It also contains live versions of "How Could Hell Be Any Worse?" and "Do What You Want". If you've never heard Bad Religion and want a good gist of their previous albums, pick this up. If you like what you hear, definately pick up the rest. "Generator" and "No Control" have tons of songs you can't afford to miss.

Critical for Every Collection,
By Andrew Jackson Murphy (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
All Ages is one of the most crucial compilations of punkmusic ever put together. For those who are not familiar with Bad Religion, this is the CD to get first! Songs such as "Against the Grain", "Do What You Want", and "Change of Ideas" embody the defiant ideology that Bad Religion has come to support over the years. Other great tracks like "21st Century Digital Boy", "Automatic Man", "Atomic Garden", and "Best For You" are representative of their sarcastic take on the modern world and its inhabitants. Do not pass this cd up if you are sick of the monotonous drone of our society or of its popular music. haha...seeya

An Outstanding Introduction To Bad Religion,
By A Customer
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
I'm new to Bad Religion. I'm not an insane punk fan, but there are a few bands I enjoy from the genre, and Bad Religion caught my interest due to their name, and after checking out a few lyrics from the band I decided I was going to go out and get one of their albums. But which one to get?Well, I saw this compilation and figured it would be the best way to start. This collection is absolutely amazing, for lack of a better term. The songs are driving, well-crafted, and full of energy. The lyrics are nothing short of brilliant and are genuinely thought provoking. If you are new to Bad Religion, listen to what all the other reviewers have said and get this album first. You won't regret it. It may inspire you to go out and purchase their other albums, which is what it inspired me to do.

This is really what punk rock is really all about. There is high energy, social commetary and of course plenty of shord songs with power chords. This is something you can listen to over and over again without getting tired because Bad Religion keeps a high energy feel. It's really a great album to buy for those not wanting to spend the money to get their old independent albums.

Best Album Ever? A resounding "Yes"...,
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
Every imaginable subject discussed, every problem confronted in this scathing look at the world around us... governments forsaking their citizens, the ecological destruction of our planet, mindless adherence to dogma, the eternal search for acceptance and the horrors that result from it, the will to survive and think for yourself, the unrecognized suffering of the masses... this is the most socially-conscious band I have ever had the pleasure to encounter. If you give a damn about anything... this CD will impress you.

No One cares about your Ex-Girlfriend,

How can anyone fault bad religion, one of the longest running punk bands in history and easily one of the best. You would think there is only so much you can do with power chords and simple melodies, well Someone forgot to tell these guys. Here lies 20 odd tracks of political, state of the world, think for youself punk rock not a skateboard or emo kid in sight. There is not one bad track on this collection and for a band that has 20 years of material behind them thats a hard thing to do.If you are either an Old BR fan or new to them This is the definative guide to the bands former years. If only there were more bands like this one.

Best Bad Religion CD Yet,
By Ryan Moriarty (the US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
I have been a big Bad Religion fan for a while and I can honestly say that this is the best out there. I listen to every song at least five times before I move on to the next. I have heard a lot of punk albums before but this is by far my favorite. Almost all of the songs have some sort of deeper meaning to them and that is what I love about this CD. You have to listen to the words carefully and once you do, you really get a good message about society and all it's faults. This is definitly a must have for any Bad Religion fan out there. They harmonize great and this is an all around good CD. The best songs are "21st Century Digital Boy," "The Answer," and "Walk Away." Those are probably the best of the best because every song on this CD is just totally awesome. I would suggest it to any Bad Religion or punk fan anywhere.

Must Have,
By A Sarah Slean's new fan (Montreal, Quebec Canada) - See all my reviews

All Bad Religion fans should have this album. All people who want to know who Bad Religion is should get this album too. This best-of album is a classic with all their hits during their Epitaph era before joining Atlantic. A must have CD.

BR at their best,
By
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
This is mostly regarded as a "Best Of" of Bad Religion's Epitaph years and i think it's an excellent collection. There are other songs which would have been perfect for this collection such as "You" and "Tomorrow" but I do realize Bad Religion have so many great songs it is hard to contain them here. All the great songs are here such as "Generator", "No Direction" , "Sanity", and "Suffer" and a live version of "F**k Armageddon (This Is Hell)". If you are new to Bad Religion I suggest you get this album. then possibly "Stranger Than Fiction", and "Process of Belief" to get the whole BR experience. Bad Religion are so legendary and a nice change from the music on the radio constantly. BR have remained very relevant and till this day have not let me down. You will not regret getting this album. Catchy choruses, insightful lyrics. Bring a dictionary, there will probably be a few words you will have trouble on. All together a perfect album!

a good compilation, but no match for the full albums,
By
This review is from: All Ages (Audio CD)
The material on this compilation is brilliant, truly without peer. I hestitate to give it five stars only because you would be selling yourself short by buying this instead of the four albums (Suffer, No Control, Against the Grain, Generator) that comprise most of this collection. I can't stress this enough; you must buy all four albums. Their importance can't be accurately portrayed by some retrospective, despite the fact that this is still very good and very listenable.
