DURABLE LONG TERM PURCHASE,

This canner is awesome. It will last my family for generations. If you want something that will can large amounts of food for a long time this is it. It is rather large and very heavy but that is what I wanted. If you want something smaller be prepared to be able to do less at one time. It just barely fits between the oven and the microwave so I went out into the garage and used the turkey fryer to can. All of the heat stays outside. I called customer service afer I chipped the handle and they took care of it by sending a new one out. They also answered a long list of questions that I had about canning without showing any impatience. I am very happy with it. Thanks

Pricey and Worth It,
By Once you own your jars, home canned in cheaper and definitely of better quality than store bought. This canner is the best investment a cook can make.

I'm very happy with the cooker. I cooked beef in it and used it for canning. The instructions for both were very easy to follow. When I was researching what cooker to buy, I finally decided to pay more and get the heavy duty cooker that people were reviewing as the one that will last for ever. I've used this product several times, and agree that it will probably last me, my children, and my grandchildren. I've never owned a pressure cooker before this one, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but here's what I love about this one: heavy duty, no seal to replace, made in Milwaukee, capacity for 14 quart jars. I also wanted to challenge a couple of negative reviews I read prior to buying this. I read that the cooker was very heavy. Correct, and I like the heavy duty design. I read that it was hard to clean and handle. Correct, and I like the heavy duty design. I read that the lid sometimes gets stuck. The instructions say to use a screwdriver. I did that and it worked. I read that it cooled very slowly after canning. What I do is release the pressure by turning off the heat and then use a towel to take off the pressure weight. The pressure releases in a minute or two and I can take off the cover immediately after that.

This pressure canner is every bit as sturdy as other folks have stated in their online reviews. For those who state that the lid "sticks" a little, I found it to be very good advice when someone stated that they put a little petroleum jelly around the lid before locking it down to prevent anything from sticking - it worked. Other than that issue, please know that this canner will last a lifetime. Wanna keep buying canned goods from foreign countries around world, or from canneries where the packing process is "questionable?" Or do you wanna just go ahead and can your own fresh stuff? To me it is a no-brainer. Don't be scared to use this canner. It looks big and bad, but it runs like a baby if you follow the instructions. Worth the purchase, for sure! By the way, I am a first-time canner who is not considered genius at this stuff. If I can can with this canner, so can you!

All American 30 Qt. Pressure Canner,

This product is very well made and works wonderfully for canning meat! It holds 14 quart jars, so you don't waste excessive energy canning. Not only stove top energy, but physical energy. It cuts down on the amount of time required to stock your winter shelves! The only drawback that I can find is my stove just had enough energy to create the temperature required for canning meat. Canning meat requires the higher temps for safety, but it got the job done! One thing I would do differently now, is to use distilled water. Hard water leaves a white residue which is hard to remove from the jars when done.

There is nothing I don't love about this canner. I'd recommend it over and over again for anyone who does a lot of canning. It used to be a long, drawn out task to can because we do so many quarts at a time. This cuts my canning time in half with it's 14 quart capacity, and I love that it has no seal to mess with and replace. Worth every penny!!!

I can confirm what others have written here. This is a classic design, unlikely to be superceded. Unlike pressure cookers that require rubber gaskets to make the seal, this canner will not wind up in your garbage any time soon.
You might be interested to know that some governments have outlawed such large canners for home use. If you would like to help ensure your family's survival in hard times your grandchildren might thank you for the investment.

The All-American 30-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner was delivered quickly and performs well. This cuts the time for processing food dramatically and is a great help because it is capable of holding 14 quart jars at one time under pressure. It does require a solid stove top and cannot be used on a glasstopped stove. We recommend the product for its great quality and as a real time saver.

Sucessfully used on a glass top stove, wonderful canner.,
This review is from: All-American 30-Quart Pressure Cooker/Canner (Kitchen)
I raise my own organic meat chickens (in the suburbs, no less) and knew that eventually I would have to get my own pressure canner to take advantage of the stock that can be made from the leftover bones after cutting up the dressed birds for the freezer. I did several hours of online research and people who really liked this canner reasoned that it was built like a tank and would (or already did) last for several several generations. It was also the only pressure canner that all the little Amish cookware shops sold when I shopped in Holmes county. Besides, I could do 14 quarts at a time, cutting my canning time in half!
After consulting my husband (this was a considerable purchase for us), we agreed that it would be worth it to get something that would last a really long time and not have to replace any gaskets and we were willing to take the risk since we currently owned a 7 year old Whirlpool Super Capacity 465 glass top stove. The stove is getting slow to heat pots and the oven runs about 50 degrees low and we'd really enjoy upgrading to a gas range someday so we agreed to be really careful and see if we could use the pressure canner on it. We also agreed that though the canner can also be used as a boiling water bath canner, We wouldn't use it for that since I already have a large stockpot for that purpose and the additional weight might push the glass top over the edge. We purchased the canner at Lehman's Hardware for $269, the tax and gas to get there made the savings over amazon a wash but I needed it right away. I studied the user's manuel a day in advance and studied it thoroughly. This thing strongly resembles a bomb and I didn't want it exploding. I have faithfully oiled the rim as instructed each time I use it and loaded it gently and slowly, working from 6 quarts the first time to a full 14 today and the canner and stove (though slow) have worked flawlessly. I don't move the canner until it is completely cooled and I really baby the cooktop. I usually fire it up to process a load in the evening and don't even open it until the next morning. I use salad tongs to move the pressure weight to avoid the possibility of getting a steam burn. I know I took a risk but it has paid off. And unlike the boiling water canner, this thing doesn't heat up the kitchen hardly at all. Just wanted to pass this along to other people interested in this fine piece of equipment but held back by their current stove. |
