"Storms Never Last - Jennings and Colter Always Will,
By Michael G. Batcho (McAdoo, PA (USA)) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All American Country (Audio CD)
This All American Country series release of duets by Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter is a more than worthwhile album to get whether you are a fan of Waylon or Jessi or both (or even if you've never been a fan of either). This is "country music" at its very best! It forms a perfect compliment to "An Outlaw A Lady, The Very Best Of Jessi Colter": you finally get the duet version of "Storms Never Last (Do They Baby?)". Jessi's solo rendition of this song is "the classic version" but this duet she recorded with Waylon is, in view of Waylon's passing, soul-stirring. Waylon's vocal is so crisp/clear/ and powerful. Jessi's is the absolute "other half of the sky" to Waylon's. Just a beautiful experience. You just have to get a copy of this cd or you'll never forgive yourself. You don't want to miss out on this great piece of country music greatness!

Waylon & Jessi shine,
This review is from: All American Country (Audio CD)
I enjoyed this CD immensely, and with ten tracks there is something here for everyone, from the standard 'Suspicious Minds' to 'Storms Never Last', their own signature tune, which is my favourite. Mikey J.

Poor recording quality,
This review is from: All American Country (Audio CD)
As a huge Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter fan I was excited to get this CD, since there are four recordings I did not have. This is a budget-line CD and I did know that when I purchased it, But "Never Can Tell" is a duet where Waylon (if it really is him) sounds incredibly out of his range (very high, so high I do doubt that it's him...that said who else would she be duetting with?) They are not all duets either. Most sound like 'throw-away' tracks, meaning there is a reason they were not included on regular albums. There is such a small amount of Jessi's material out there that I would recommend it for the hard-core Jessi fan but start with her Greatest Hits and the "Wanted..Outlaws" album first. I does include the "Storms Never Last" duet. She is scheduled to release a new album Feb. 28, 2006. (!!!!)
