More About the Author

As a poet and writer, I believe the most important detail in the written word is to touch the human nerve. Words are powerful. Always have been. I want my work (my words) to provoke, seduce, outrage and cause melancholy in you. I want to move that part of the human spirit that so many of us try to conceal and cover up. To lift the facade that we call the invisible security blanket. I hope I am successful.
Writers that have influenced me through the years are Dean Koontz, Robert R. McCammon and S.E. Hinton. I believe these artists to be three of the greatest story tellers of our time. I never get tired of reading their books.
Let me know if my books touch you. I always look forward to readers feedback.

4.0 out of 5 stars Poetry with Heart, April 3, 2001
By
This review is from: All-American Texan (Paperback)
Waide Riddle's book, "All American Texan", is an enlightening first work by this up and coming author. It is unusual that this first work is a book of poetry. Waide's poems are heartfelt and endearing in some passages, dark and gripping in others. Reading these poems truly gives you a sense of who the author really is and what it was like to grow up as he did. You will find things in these poems that you will identify with and that will spark memories of your own life. I find myself reading and re-reading this book, discovering new things in it each time. I highly recommend this book for anyone that enjoys poetry.

4.0 out of 5 stars all american texan, February 12, 2000

I absolutely love this book! I am a friend of the authors so I felt obligated to purchase the book, as well as being the subject of one of the poems. I was unsure of how the book would rate, hoping at most to find the poem about myself interesting---I quickly was surprised at how gifted Wade is and how truly interested each and every poem made me feel! I am not the type who reads much poetry, but from my standpoint I could really live somewhat vicariously through his eyes, and felt in touch with what he was trying to express. A definite one to purchase!

4.0 out of 5 stars favorite poet, January 13, 2002
By

This poet knows about the things he writes so intimately that as
you read you can feel the passion coming through almost as a
tangable thing. All his work has a very personal touch to it.
The words flow so well they pull you into the story and don't let you go until the very end. I think his work is very refeshing.
