Poetry with Heart,
By Mark E. Dunaway (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All-American Texan (Paperback)
Waide Riddle's book, "All American Texan", is an enlightening first work by this up and coming author. It is unusual that this first work is a book of poetry. Waide's poems are heartfelt and endearing in some passages, dark and gripping in others. Reading these poems truly gives you a sense of who the author really is and what it was like to grow up as he did. You will find things in these poems that you will identify with and that will spark memories of your own life. I find myself reading and re-reading this book, discovering new things in it each time. I highly recommend this book for anyone that enjoys poetry.

all american texan,
By JOHN W IRELAND 111 (studio city, california) - See all my reviews

I absolutely love this book! I am a friend of the authors so I felt obligated to purchase the book, as well as being the subject of one of the poems. I was unsure of how the book would rate, hoping at most to find the poem about myself interesting---I quickly was surprised at how gifted Wade is and how truly interested each and every poem made me feel! I am not the type who reads much poetry, but from my standpoint I could really live somewhat vicariously through his eyes, and felt in touch with what he was trying to express. A definite one to purchase!

This poet knows about the things he writes so intimately that asyou read you can feel the passion coming through almost as a tangable thing. All his work has a very personal touch to it. The words flow so well they pull you into the story and don't let you go until the very end. I think his work is very refeshing. |
