I have never heard music quite like this. It is so happy and so off-the-wall that you can't help smiling when you listen to it.

Amsterdam meets Tokyo in a strange array of samples and dance beats. This record is sugary to the bone with campy dance tracks, but it dose not lack pop sophistication. I believe two tracks from ALL IN are featured in Acura commercials.Between the samples and the dancefloor backbeats, the album is composed very nicely, and there are some really clever lounge numbers that really cap the ALL IN release off (for me at least). This isn't a one genera album, they hit just about everything that is cool and hip.

i thought it was gonna be an sense stimulating chocolate covered trip. i guess i got my expectations too high because when i got the album, i wasn't that impressed and a little disappointed.i think groups like pizzicato five, bis, and even deee-lite have already done what these guys are doing, and probably better. i'm not trying to totally slam this album though. it is a light, upbeat dance music album that would probably work good as backround music at a party or while you are cleaning the house... my favorite songs in that case would be "speeding down the highway", and "we love to rock". i think its only mildly fun and the plastic taste leaves you wanting some more substantial musical food. it won't leave a lasting impression.

You simply *must* love this music. It is happiness. It makes me bounce. It makes me love life. It was like they scraped away the evil in life and allowed us to see the good stuff again.

"cunning and clever" was a great way to describe this album. i think anybody who is laden with heavy music that fails to make them smile should have a listen to this. it is an amzing start for the group and it is filled with the type of music that just feels good and positive and fun. i highly recommend checking it out.

I just saw them last night in Vancouver, B.C. at the Chameleon Lounge... They ROCK! Silly English-as-a-second-language Euro-rock and a pounding guitar, weird backups (theremin and flautist) and an infectious dance rhythm. Who can despair in the face of such awesome power? Not me.

We love dancing...... Yeaaaaah!,
By A Customer
This review is from: All in (Audio CD)
All-In is a very up-beat album mixing all kinds of influences (more in particular: Pizzicato 5 and other Japanese club pop, Kraftwerk and drum 'n' bass), resulting in one of the best albums of 1998 (when the CD was released in Europe). The album starts off with some children shouting "We love dancing.... Yeaaaaaah!" and from that point onwards you just can't keep the smile from your face (highlights are Voulez-vous, Ein Abend in Wien and Groovy and of course We Love Dancing"). The variation in musical styles is sometimes staggering (from upbeat almost lounge-like soundscapes to sure-fire dancefloor fillers): a bonafide modern classic which can be enjoyed both at home or in the clubs.

Arling & Cameron - All-In,
This review is from: All in (Audio CD)
Arling & Cameron's debut album, _All-In_, managed to smoosh together Europop, techno, J-pop lounge and go-go, in one convenient package. So even if the chirpy "We Love Dancing" doesn't hit the right chord (too reminiscent of toontown techno for my tastes -- but the slowed-down version on "We Love Dub" seems okay), the jazz rolls of "Here We Go" work better. And while you may think "Voulez-Vous?" would be an ABBA cover, it turns out to be a slinky piece of sleazy listening. Similarly, "Speeding Down the Highway" is made for Barcalounger-outfitted Jaguar convertibles driven by cool cats. There's also the campy and happily cheesy "Ein Abend in Wein," replete with whistling chorus. Arling & Cameron seem content to keep the rhythms primarily to peppy breaks, which is good for jumping-up but which gets tiring after a while. The theremin on "Gershwin," however, is a nice, surprising touch. As a first shot across the bow of pop music, it's good fun.

And I mean that in a good way! If you have a sense of humor at all you will enjoy this. Very creative, goofy, but most of all, HAPPY! We used to play this at Urban Outfitters in Cambridge and it made both the employess and shoppers smile.
