Tina Turner is one of the best singers in music history and has been working for over 40 years. This year she released a very successful double cd greatest hits album named "ALL THE BEST" that contains 90% of her hits plus 3 brand new recordings. The album debuted at #2 in the U.S and went Platinum in a month. Very good deal but now this new greatest hits is released some months after and it's simply shameful. It contains some of her biggest hits but come on, where's the Top 15 hit and Grammy Award winner "ONE OF THE LIVING" which isn't on any Tina recopilatory?. The only song from here that doesn't appear on "ALL THE BEST" is "LOOK ME IN THE HEART" which is good but only one song, that can be also find in ther 1991 recopilatory "SIMPLY THE BEST". I should have added the 1996 smash "WHATEVER YOU WANT" or "DON'T TURN AROUND" from the B side of the "TYPICAL MALE" single, just to mention a song.
The booklet from "ALL THE BEST" was weak and this one contains the same pictures and info. No further info from Tina's carreer, no charts history, no nothing. That's my comment for any Tina fan or just the people who don't consider themselves as fans but follow her music. If you want to have something from Tina or just a recopilatory, I'd recommend the original "ALL THE BEST" with the two cd's that besides having much more songs, the price is very good.

This is the 4th Tina Turner compilation released by EMI/Capitol and the problem is that it offers nothing extra. We get the same songs all over again. They squeezed the biggest hits of "All the best" on one disc. A very disappointing and weak release.

Earlier in the year, there was a real vast amount of several different greatest hits packages that made it onto the record shelves. While so many acts have shown those true colors like Donna Summer Gold, Genesis: The Platinum Collection, and others, Tina Turner also came out with a highly successful package. The double album All The Best, was arguably the most definitive as you could've imagined of one of the most sexy divas of all time. Yet, if that wasn't enough, there was word of mouth that a similar package of All The Best was released. Yet, while the double record hits the jackpot, the single one loses strides.
All The Best: The Hits is a compact version of Tina Turner's 2005 All The Best package. The album does lose a bit of momentum by squeezing a highly remarkable double record, into half of the process on a single CD. The compilation does still include a lot of Tina's biggest hits like It's Only Love With Bryan Adams, What's Love Got To Do With It, We Don't Need Another Hero from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome, and her 1993 hit I Don't Wanna Fight. While the collection does fair very well, there still are some great tracks that were highly overshadowed that could've been placed like the seductive Bond movie track Goldeneye, When The Heartache Is Over, and others to name a few. Still, All The Best: The Hits does carry well for anybody who doesn't own a Tina Turner release, but for die hard Tina fans, you are really just better off with the full length double album. I received my CD in perfect condition and in less time I was told. I really recommend buying through Amazon, which is secure and they really made me feel confident, so I will surely be making my shopping only at AMAZON.

The Tina Turner collections are starting to pile up, but hey, it's Tina right. What I don't understand, is that this is almost exactly the same as "Simply The Best". They're even both 18 tracks long. I guess if you paid attention to detail, a couple songs are swapped between the two discs, and one big plus on this "Hits" is that it has the duet "It's Only Love" with Bryan Adams. I suppose If you had no prior collection from her this would be fine. And this year the 2-disc set also entitled "All The Best" was released if you need more. Basically, "What You Get Is What You See".

I love this CD. I think all greatest hit CDs are good but this one seems to have all of the songs that I like to listen to.

Smart short form version for those who can't wallow through 2 CDs,

This review is from: All the Best: The Hits (Audio CD)
This was a well put together single CD for those who can't wallow through 2 CDs and 33 songs of the February 2005 released All The Best. Attention spans are short to some people these days, so this single-CD concept is understandable. This one took 18 of those songs and placed them on a single CD. Must have been a field day deciding what could be on it, because Tina Turner has made some great songs. The Private Dancer hits are included as well as her Ike and Tina era songs, her song with Bryan Adams and more rock-driven songs. They're not put in any chronological order, but Tina knows how she wants her CD to sound! Complicated Disaster and Open Arms are the best of her newer songs, and they are just as hooked in your head as What's Love or The Best. A smart, creative idea by Tina and her handlers to have released this album!
