Although this book is easy, it's not what I thought it was. This is a gospel, scripture, church, hymn etc. songbook. The songs as stated are easy, but that's not what I was looking for when I read "All The Best Songs For Easy Guitar" I was expecting to find Easy listening, campfire tunes, country etc. But I'll keep it because there's nothing wrong with teaching children hymns. Only 2 stars for advertising.

What I like about it: (1) A great variety of new songs and old favorites, (2) the arrangements are easy enough for a beginner like me (and THAT'S easy!), (3) the size and spiral bound format makes it convenient to use, (4) Great chord chart and useful indexes in the back, (5) contains many songs for just one book (3 times as many as similar books), so it's a great value.

The subtitle is "75 Hymns and Choruses", so there is no false advertising on the publisher's part, though I understand the disappointment if one thought it was a generic campfire songbook. But the markets for these books are typically Christian bookstores and church supply centers, so the publisher assumes the buyer knows what it's for. So for it's intended purpose, it's excellent! (I've got volume 2 also)

I'm a guitar teacher. I make it a point to use the best materials I can find for my students, and this is one of the best books for learning and practicing chords. The follow-up book by the same company and editor is highly recommended. If you happen to be a Christian, then the songs will be some that you may be familiar with and are certain to enjoy.

I think this book couldn't be any easier! You learn to play songs imediately. And there are good choices of songs.
