It's difficult to find a canister set that is airtight and also large enough. I think I've searched my whole life for that perfect set. THIS ONE IS IT!!! Honestly, I wanted the Calphalon set because it would match my cookware and I thought the brushed finish would be easier to keep clean but I bought this set because of the size and I am so happy I did! The smallest canister holds an entire 5 lb bag of sugar, and I use the other two for all-purpose flour and bread flour, and yes, they hold the entire bag! They are gorgeous and not at all difficult to keep clean. I spent a lot of time researching canister sets and you can't go wrong with this one!!! You will love it!!!

This is a set of 3 stainless steel canisters with glass lids and silicone seals. Although All-Clad is an American company, this product has been outsourced to China, and the set comes in a box that is clearly labeled "Made in China." Thus, if you're considering paying a premium for a Made in America product, this is not at all what you want. The canisters are made of decent quality stainless steel, and collect finger marks accordingly. The lids are tight fitting, so tight, in fact, that they cannot be simply pulled off by tugging on the handles. Instead, you need to pry them off by wedging something between the lid and canister. If you use fingernails, you'll probably break a few. If you use anything harder, you'll probably damage the lid. The first set I received of these canisters had a badly dented lid, which was no longer round but puckered into a wedge. I had to send the set back. I just noticed that one of the lids on the replacement set has a small dent on the edge, but I'm not willing to wait the 6 weeks it takes to get yet another replacement set through the mail. In sum, this product does not live up to All-Clad quality, and you've got to be pretty determined to have an All-Clad kitchen if you're willing to pay a premium for such a difficult to use, substandard product.

The Good: heavy duty, large enough for 5 pounds of flour and more, very tight seal on lids, see-through lids, attractive, clean lines.

The Bad: hard to get open because of the tight seal. If you are weak and frail, you may want to reconsider these canisters.

The Ugly: lots of fingerprints are left, have to clean-up more after using to keep looking nice.

These canisters are gorgeous. Very sturdy and the lids fit tightly. Highly recommended. Large sizes too.

I order these despite the bad reviews. This was a big mistake. The canisters are very solid, but the lids are very difficult to remove without much effort and risk of dumping the contents on the floor in the process. I sent these back to amazon the next day. I bought Bodum PRESSO
Storage glass canisters in place of these all-clad canisters. The Bodum canisters are very functional and cool with easy to remove tops.

AFTER YOU WIPE THEM DOWN,YOU BETTER PUT YOUR WILEY,X,S ON CAUSE THEY SHINE.VERY STURDY!!!! AND SEAL WELL. BETTER THEN CERAMIC THEY DON,T BREAK. I RECOMEND THESE TO ANYBODY WHOM SEEKS QUALITY.AND A WELL SEALING CANISTER.

these canisters are great! purchased less expensive ones and returned them because they look cheap. I was hesitant at first to spend $100.oo on canisters, but I broke down and bought them, and I am glad I did.

I have looked for new canisters for two years. The All-Clad set is by far the best set I have found. They are a beautiful, heavy stainless, and are a roomy size. Other reviewers are unhappy with the tightness of the lids. Yes, they do fit snugly, but that's what keeps the flour, etc. fresh. A gentle tug is all that's needed.
While a little pricey, I think they are worth it.

I searched and searched for new canisters for my kitchen that weren't insanely ugly, that seemed sturdy, etc. I bought a less expensive Polder set first, and was sadly disappointed when flour came spilling out of the "window" on the large canister. So I broke down and spent the money to buy these.

The pros: They do look nice in the kitchen. And they ARE sturdy.

The cons: the cover stays on so tight that I've become accustomed to hooking the canister under my arm and tugging to get the top off. This has resulted in a mass of spilled sugar once when the canister slipped out from under my arm. And also, they are really expensive for kitchen canisters.

These canisters are absolutely top of the line. Beautiful and practical! A bit pricy, but they should last a lifetiime (assuming replacement seals remain available), and I can't imagine growing tired of them.
