All-clad 8in Lid

I was looing for a used lid to go with a sauce pan we have without a lid. No luck with finding a used lid, so I ordered this one. I couldn't find the size of the product so I called the seller. Even though it was earlier than their opening time, someone answered the call and measured the lid for me. Good service! The lid is very nice, but $40 for a lid seems high to me. I took one star off because of the high cost.

The item came the next day, and it was well packed. I happened to be holding this lid with a previous one I had purchased, and there was a noticable difference in the weight. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the thickness of the steel was different; this one was much thicker. I thought that was strange, in a good way, but from what I've been reading and experiencing persoannly, all-clad is starting to have quality control issues. (See the issues with the measuring cups.) The only real complaint is the price, thus the 4 stars, but then again it's all-clad, right?
