This 4 quart saucepan is really a must! Perfect for a pound of pasta, boiling veggies, a small batch of sauce, the list is endless. It is also great if you don't feel like pulling out a stock pot or if you are trying to save space on your stove. I love All Clad in general but this one is one of the best. The handle is perfect, the lid is great, it is just an all around great pan and super easy to clean. All Clad quality can't be beat. Once you try one piece you will be hooked too (that is if you are not already :). All Clad offers a lifetime warranty and each piece is superb quality and very well made. There is nothing like top quality stainless steel. Cleaning Tip: If you should get something stuck to the stainless steel use a product called "Bar Keepers Friend" to clean it. Most supermarkets have it and Kitchen Etc. and Bed, Bath and Beyond carry it too. The container (like a Comet can) is gold with blue and white writing. All Clad recommends it for cleaning stainless steel and it works like a dream and is very inexpensive. Highly recommended! A+++!

This is a must have pot for any cooking enthusiast that is planning on owning All-Clad's stainless line. The size is versatile, large enough to boil pasta, small enough to make sauces or puddings. I just purchased mine and love it. It cooks evenly and washes up nicely and it's beautiful to look at. I don't think this size comes in any of the sets. You must buy it separately. This comes with a lid already and has a nice grip handle that is easy to hold with one hand, while you are stirring or cooking in the pot. I prefer this one to the 4-quart pot with the two handles as this one is easier to manage at times, when stirring, etc. or when you need your other hand, as I find sometimes in a busy kitchen. If you're thinking of buying a few items of All-Clad, (since they are pricey), this is a must.

Buy the one with the loop,

This saucepan is great when you're making a big batch of something, but beware that it's quite heavy and can be unwieldy when it's full of food. I really enjoy cooking with it, but when I want to pour things out I wish I had paid the slightly higher price for the one with the loop across from the handle so that I'd have more leverage.

A workhorse, but buy the one with the loop...,

This 4 quart pot is one of the two pots I use the most (along with the 2 quart). It is a true workhorse. It's perfect for pasta, especially spaghetti, for up to about 4 adults.
One important note: buy the one with the loop! It's worth the extra money. As another commentator mentioned, this pot gets very heavy when full. My aunt pointed out that older people, or smaller women, might have trouble with this. Trying to lift and pour this pot can be quite a workout. I wish I had the one with the loop opposite the handle. (Better yet, I wish I had 2 loops instead of the handle. That one is called the 4 Quart Casserole.)

Superb quality, bad handle,

Like all All-Clad products, this pan is an exceptional product. The heat transfers evenly and it's great for candy making. Unfortunately, the handle is quite uncomfortable and pouring contents is incredibly difficult and uncomfortable. The handle is grooved and not substantial enough for the weight of the pan.
For those who care, the pot is made in US, lid in China.

All-Clad 4-Quart Saucepan,

Long have I coveted All-Clad cookware, and finally treated myself to three pieces, including this one. They say a watched pot never boils, but I couldn't help but watch this one. The pan heated the water evenly and my pasta cooked in a lot less time than I expected. I look forward to years of cooking bliss with this pan.

Worth the Cost for the Warranty!,

Had an accident with an All Clad pot a few months ago and sent it back. Yesterday, found a new 4-qt pot at my front door. (Of course, honesty pays in the long run as well!)The All Clad pots are really nice as the edges will not cut when washing. And, they travel well, withstanding shipping unlike cheap aluminum pots & pans. Only thing, when going for the >4 quart size pots, try to get the ones with the additional loop handle as this will make moving a heavy full pot easier using two the two handles instead of just the standard one handle.

Good enough for Mom's Christmas Custard,

This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 4-Quart Saucepan (Kitchen)
It's good enough for Mom's Christmas Custard. Need I say more? A little expensive, but it cooks Mom's custard in style with the double boiler insert (purchased separately)
