This is the best. If you can afford it, get it. It is a prize. It provides for "perfect frying." It could become a family heirloom. It could become one of those "they don't make them like this anymore."

I've had mine since the 1970's and it's still as beautiful as the day I got it. Great tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Favorite Pan, February 25, 2011

Not only does this pan look great in the kitchen, it performs wonderfully. It's a very well balanced piece with enough weight to hold heat well but not so heavy that it's a chore to use. The handle stays very cool and the concave design is great for maintaining a solid grasp.
I generally use this pan for searing meat and fish and I'm always happy with the outcome. As long as you pre-heat the pan over a low-medium flame and use enough fat, nothing ever sticks. I also find myself using a lower flame than I would with lower quality pans and still achieving fantastic results - if not better.
Although the copper exterior is relatively thin, I find it distributes heat very effectively - even up the sides. Keeping the copper clean is quite easy with just a dusting of BarKeeper's Friend and a light scrub. Results are best when pan is still warm. I only bought the copper model to match my existing copper-bottomed pans and would say that if looks aren't important to you, buy the regular stainless version. I would assume it performs just as well.
