I really like this griddle and would have given it 5 stars but for a detail.

Pros:
I use this griddle on an electric coil stove, on one large and one small burner. It heats very evenly even with the small burner, is heavy enough not to slide around while cooking, is light enough to move easily (vs. cast iron), and the non-stick surface make cleaning a breeze. It also has a grease gutter on the perimeter that can hold the griddle in place on the burner. The handles are vertical and grip extends slightly inward so it does not bang on the rear of the stove. It doesn't interfere with cooking as I thought it might.

Cons:
However, the grease gutter is about 1 inch all around that subtracts from the cooking surface, making the cooking area more like 11x18 instead of the listed 13x20. The transition from the cooking surface to the gutter is rounded so pancake batter poured near the edge can run into the gutter. It would have been better if the gutter was narrower and the edge was more square, but other non-cast iron models are designed similarly.

A good-quality product that I would buy again.

This griddle looks great, but I had to send mine back. This is because the bottom is raised about 3/8 inch due to the grease channel that runs around the perimeter, and it is thus not compatible with our ceramic cooktop. I contacted All-Clad, and they confirmed that it will not work on smooth cooktops. It would have been nice for the manufacturer to point this out in their product description, but they do not.

This product has been said to not work on a smooth cooktop. I e-mailed All-Clad about it & this was their response:

If your new cooktop is a radiant type the Double Griddle should work just fine. If you have an induction type cooktop it will not perform. The reason is because is has a hard anodized exterior rather than the magnetic exterior required for induction cooktops.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is a smooth cooktop that this will work on. I am very excited about this!

Great cookware. Like all other reviews, I too love this item. It makes cooking breakfast a lot faster and easier. You could make all the pancakes at once, cook eggs and bacons the same time. I really recommend this cookware if you have been thinking about buying a griddle. Forget about buying one single griddle, you need a double griddle (makes cooking a lot faster). Easy to clean also. I normally buy Calphalon's products, but this griddle which is made by Al-Clad is far heavier in weight and nicer design also.

This is a terrific tool for any cook. I thought my husband and I were nuts for buying such an expensive pancake griddle. It makes terrific pancakes but I use it all time, on the stove and inside the oven to grill and roast everything from asparagus to zucchini with stops on the way for chicken, salmon and potatoes. It heats quickly, evenly and holds the heat for a long time. Can be cleaned with little effort.

This fabulous All Clad LTD griddle has become a weekend morning staple in our kitchen. We prepare "big" family breakfasts on the weekends and with this griddle we cook bacon, sausage, pancakes, eggs, hash browns...the works...all together. It fits such large portions, that we can serve hot food all together. It is wonderful!
We have a gas stove top and we find that this griddle cooks evenly across the entire surface. There are no "primary hot zones".

Amazing pretty much says it all for this griddle. I cook everything from pancakes to grilled cheese to crepes to cheesesteaks. Works great for bacon, all of the grease collects on the sides and then easily pours out. Would recommend All-clad products for everyone. The best thing is that at the end of the cooking, all you do is rinse it in the sink, and everything comes off. No awful scrubbing.

This griddle is fabulous! Its generous size lets you make several sandwiches, quesadillas, or pancakes at the same time. The non-stick surface works really well. After many, many uses, mine has acquired only a few scatches. I like it so much that I'm ordering a second one.

We just remodeled our kitchen and I really suffered trying to decide whether to buy the stove top with a built in griddle or not. I finally decided to go with the six burner stove top without the griddle since someone suggested to me that the All Clad griddle would fit perfectly on two burners of the stove. I'm so happy I did that. I don't use the griddle a whole lot and with this one I can store it and then pull it out when needed. It cleans very easily and is a delight to cook on.

The day after it arrived my wife made the fluffiest pancakes she has ever made. The local diner might not be seeing us on Sunday mornings again. It is a great size for cooking on the front/back burner. A good size for large crowds. 7 Pancakes fit, no more waiting to eat! We have another All-Clad pan and are very happy with both.
