This 6-quart stockpot illustrates the Master Chef line's stylish yet practical design. Though not classically tall and narrow, it simmers soups and stocks and accommodates enough ragu Bolognese to feed all the relatives. And it's ideal for braising on the stovetop or in the oven under its polished lid. Because the aluminum core extends up the sides, foods cook uniformly, even though the pot is 4-1/4 inches deep (11 inches in diameter). And because the interior is nonreactive, tomatoes and other acidic foods won't taste metallic. Its lid and stay-cool loop handles are riveted for strength and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Master Chef cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack

ALL-CLAD TURNED ME INTO A CHEF,
By A Customer
This review is from: All-Clad Master Chef 2 6-Quart Stockpot (Kitchen)
I thought I couldn't cook -- until I started using All-Clad. I kept scorching the pudding and didn't realize it was my old, thin stainless steel pans with the copper bottoms that was the problem. (You know the ones I mean.) All-clad pans are wonderful. They conduct heat well, clean easily, and are heavy enough to avoid scorching problems. I recommend them to everyone. I have an assortment from the 2 qt. copper saucier for delicate sauces to this useful aluminum exterior clad 6 qt. pot that I use for absolutely everything, from spaghetti sauces to chili to pot roasts. This 6 quart beauty is the first piece of All-clad that I purchased over 10 years ago. It is also the pot I use most often and I have no trouble keeping the aluminum clad exterior clean enough to hang on the wall. Furthermore, I know from first hand experience that the All-clad company stands behind their product and will replace them if there is a problem. The only exterior that I don't have much experience with is the LTD. I bought one of the 1 qt. bargains -- and so far it has not scratched although my use has been very light. (I find it a little too small to be really useful.)

Good but won't last for 20 years,
This review is from: All-Clad Master Chef 2 6-Quart Stockpot (Kitchen)
All clad pots and pans are better to cook with than the Asian imports and last twice as long. A good reason to buy made in the USA. But don't plan on All clad lasting more than 6-8 years of regular use. For the purchase price, all clad should upgrade the thickness of the stainless interior. I don't expect my pots to last forever, but I think that a $200 pot should last for 20 years and my stockpot is on the way out after 6 years. The Lodge made in USA line cookware lasts for 20+ years and are half the price of all clad.Secondarily, All-clad customer service is horrible. Be prepared to be frustrated if you ever try to use the 'lifetime warranty' or have questions about all clad construction.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: All-Clad Master Chef 2 6-Quart Stockpot (Kitchen)
When my old Revere Ware pots and pans started wearing out and no replacements were available, I tried All-clad. After using the first pot, all the old pots, pans and skillets were replaced by All-Clad. The last purchase was the 6-quart stockpot. It heats evenly and quickly -- a perfect pot for chili and stew. All-Clad cookware is heavy, so not for the weak and frail but it is nearly indestructible.
