Not Up to Par,

This skillet is not ready for prime time and not up to par with other All-Clad skillets. It is very lightweight which makes it feel like a cheap bargain-basement purchase, not something that costs $60.00. The handle on this skillet is the worst I have ever seen. It is extremely uncomfortable to hold unlike other All-Clad handles. The upper edges are so thin they feel as if they could cut into the hand. The customer service rep at All-Clad told me all of their French skillets have the same handle so that means I will not be buying more.

My husband begged to replace our non-stick skillet, so we decided to spend the extra money and buy our second all-clad skillet. I wasn't sure about the higher sides in the French-style skillet, but now that we have it, I realize it makes the skillet far more versitle. We've had it for 3-4 months and use it at least 3 times a week. It has become our kitchen work horse.

We got this pan in July (6 months before this review) and we've been using it more or less non-stop since then. It works very nicely on our ceramic, smooth-topped electric range and has held up through many rides in the dishwasher. Not a mark on the non-stick interior yet. The handle hasn't struck me as much, if at all, different than the many other All-Clad pots and pans that I've got.
The pan is a bit lighter than the 8 inch regular non-stick stainless skillet but holds its heat quite well. It was a good price versus the 8 inch skillet, too.

uneven bottom,

Had to return this pan because bottom was 1/8 inch higher in middle than edges - not good. Also had the same experience with 9 and 11 inch nonstick pans. I did get a 9 inch non-nonstick pan that had a perfectly flat bottom and I love it.

Non-stick doesn't hold up,

OK, I am a HUDGE fan of All Clad, but the two non-stick pans just have not held up. I would recommend all the wonderful regular stainless, and get a cheap non-stick pan that you plan to replace each year for things that really need a non-stick for.

We do not use nonstick cookware very often in our house. For the most part, we only use this particular skillet for eggs. The skillet appears to be well-made with a nonstick coating that will last, but the handle is very uncomfortable. It is long, it is at an awkward angle, and it digs into your palm when you are holding it. Also with our skillet it seems like half of it gets hotter than the other side. It is subtle, but still noticeable.Overall I would probably not buy this skillet again if given the choice. There are too many other options out there than to have to deal with the annoyances of this one.

Not bad but considering it has life time warranty think about it?,

I owned this pan for almost 9 month and the nonstick portion went bad from washing it etc. However I brought back to the store and since they have a lifetime warranty the store exchanged it for me for a new pan. Can't beat that?

I purchased this item when I saw it on special and ordered the All-Clad 7-1/2 lid to go with it. The items arrived together, but the lid does not fit the pan. Instead of sitting on the rim of the skillet, it drops inside the pan about 1/4 inch. I don't know who in China is handling quality control, but in this country if we make a lid to go with a pan, it actually fits the pan.

This is a very versatile non stick skillet. The size is medium so not too heavy but big enough to say scramble eggs for 4. I use it for everything from grilling sandwiches to finish pasta in sauce and for making chicken piccata or other dishes with a sauce, etc. etc. Love it and use it lots so I bought a second.
