5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than I expected
I read all the prior reviews and I don't need to repeat any of the many virtues the others raved about. It's all true. (I'm really surprised any restaurant below a five star would use them for food service. They must have a metal detector at the exit. See Pete's review dated October 16, 2007.)

3.0 out of 5 stars Cute
Although these have stay cool handles when you use them on the stove to heat soup, remember to place them on something heat resistant for serving. I use these on the stove top for soups and gumbo and they heat beautifully. I have yet to make a souffle to test how they work in the oven.

Easy clean up in the dishwasher. They sparkle with a little Bar...

5.0 out of 5 stars Even better than I expected, December 24, 2009

I read all the prior reviews and I don't need to repeat any of the many virtues the others raved about. It's all true. (I'm really surprised any restaurant below a five star would use them for food service. They must have a metal detector at the exit. See Pete's review dated October 16, 2007.)

The actual "product dimensions" are: 4 1/2" inside diameter; 7 1/4" handle end to handle end; 2 1/4" deep. They hold 16 oz. with 2 oz. (or 1/2" height) remaining to the rim. And, FWIW, each one weighs 1 lb., 4 5/8 oz.

Unlike the 7" oval bakers which carry the shiny stainless across the bottom, these have spun bottoms just like the pans. However, for anyone interested, they do not have the magnetic layer necessary for induction.

Very, very nice. I'm glad I ignored the price and bought them.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "perfect" soup bowl, October 16, 2007
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 1/2-Quart Soup/Souffle Ramekins, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
My wife & I had ordered a shrimp bisque at a nearby restaurant. The bisque was outstanding and it was served in the all-clad stainless soup bowls. We both commented on how the bisque stayed nice and hot until the very last spoonful!
Later that week I searched Amazon and ,naturally, they had the lowest price. We now cook our soups in them -on the range or in the oven and bring them right to the table. We put them in the dishwasher and they sparkle like new.
In my opinion, there is nothing better to serve soup in.

4.0 out of 5 stars Made in China, January 15, 2009
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 1/2-Quart Soup/Souffle Ramekins, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
These are decent little soup ramekins. They are made for both stovetop and oven use. In addition to soup ramekins, they also make fine butter melters. While they sport the "All Clad" label on the handles like other other All Clad pots, they aren't made in Canonsburg, PA, but rather in China, according to the labels on the boxes. That's probably why they're so much cheaper than other All Clad cooking ware.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for French onion soup, August 26, 2009
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 1/2-Quart Soup/Souffle Ramekins, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
Simply put, All-Clad makes great products. My wife likes french onion soup and there are lots ramekins I could use to make it in, but these are simply the best I have found. They work very well and look great at serving time too.

I addition being great soup bowls they work very well for melting butter, making baked apples and serving ice cream sundaes. Oh, I've made personal lasagna in them too. I'm sure you'll find lots of great uses for them too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, May 22, 2008
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 1/2-Quart Soup/Souffle Ramekins, Set of 2 (Kitchen)
The first time I saw these I thought they were so cute. I was envious when my friend bought a set and raved about them. I have to admit that I haven't actually used them yet but I can't wait to make a seafood bisque in these. The quality of these ramekins are truely remarkable and you can tell by the weight of them.

UPDATE: I've now had a chance to actually use these and I use them all the time. It keeps your soup piping hot for a much longer time then your typical soupl bowls. Highly recommend... even for the price.

i use these less than the 7 inch oval bakers - but still a lot -

to save energy on reheating -

and to live without a microwave...

These are beautiful ramekins that hold a generous portion. They feel strong and I haven't had any problems with any of the baked pasta and chicken pot pie dishes I tried in them.

5.0 out of 5 stars High Quality 18/10 Stainless Steel - Functional Design, Fine Craftsmanship, December 22, 2010

All-Clad Stainless 1/2-Quart Soup/Souffle Ramekins, Set of 2

These highly polished (outside only; inside, and bottom outside are matt finish), beautiful 18/10 Stainless Steel, round ramekins are excellent quality, durable, food grade, non-leaching, and a safe metal alloy especially, when preparing, and handling cooked or heated food.

They are solid, durable, and heavy so you don't have to worry about knocking them over, and you can cook with them in the oven or on the stovetop. I'm very please with All-Clad's craftsmanship whereas, I now have several of these in particular, and you can tell that every detail including the rivets, which bind the handles to the bowl have been designed and made to fit perfectly. As others have mentioned you can hold ~ 2 cups, which is not too big or too small, and for a toaster/convection oven they fit just right.

Treat yourself or a loved one to higher quality, sustainable, reusable, beautiful product, and you won't regret it, other than why didn't you do it sooner! Hope that this helps.
