This classic, slope-sided fry pan makes clear why All-Clad's Stainless line is so popular. It's 8 inches in diameter, perfect for searing a hunk of halibut or a hangar steak. Its polished 18/10 stainless-steel handle is riveted to the pan for strength, grooved on the top and rounded on the bottom for comfort, and holed in the end for hanging on a hook or peg. The long handle stays cool on the stovetop but won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. Although Stainless cookware is dishwasher-safe, hand washing is recommended. --Fred Brack

All-Clad Stainless Construction
Each piece of All-Clad cookware features a unique metal bonding construction. All-Clad Stainless cookware sandwiches a thick core of three separate layers of aluminum between an easy-to-clean, highly polished 18/10 stainless-steel cooking surface and a magnetic stainless-steel exterior. The aluminum core retains heat and evenly distributes it along the bottom and up the sidewalls of the cookware. The stainless interior is stick-resistant and cleans easily. The magnetic stainless-steel exterior gives the cookware a gleaming finish. Features and Benefits
All-Clad pans with a stainless interior cooking surface are oven-safe up to 500 degrees. All-Clad pans with a non-stick cooking surface are oven-safe up to 400 degrees, but should not be used under the broiler. We recommend using a low to medium temperature when cooking with All-Clad. Higher heats are not necessary and may cause discoloration (see cleaning instructions below). Other features include:
Warranty
From date of purchase, All-Clad guarantees to repair or replace any item found defective in material, construction or workmanship under normal use and following care instructions. This excludes damage from misuse or abuse. Minor imperfections and slight color variations are normal.
Cleaning Instructions
For daily cleaning, warm soapy water is sufficient. Clean your All-Clad thoroughly after each use. Food films left of the pan may cause discoloration and sticking. To get rid of stuck-on food or discoloration and stains from using too high of a heat, we recommend cleaning your All-Clad with a product called Bar Keepers Friend. To use the Bar Keepers Friend, simply use a soft cloth or sponge and water and make into a soupy paste. This can be used on the interior, as well as the exterior of your All-Clad (excluding the Cop-R-Chef). The Bar Keepers Friend can also be used on the exterior of the All-Clad Stainless collection, LTD collection, and MC2 collection. For cleaning of the Cop-R-Chef exterior, simply use a brass/copper cleaner. If your water has a high iron content, you may notice a rusty discoloration. Use Bar Keepers Friend to remove it.
All-Clad Stainless Selection
In recent years, a professional-size 14-inch fry pan was added to the Stainless fry pan assortment, as well as several popular specialty pans, including: the small-size petite brasier with a dome-shaped lid; petite roti roasting pan; and the beautiful, large-capacity Dutch oven and French oven oval roasting pan with roasting rack. All saucepans, casseroles, sauté pans, stock pots, and specialty items come with lids. Double boiler and steamer inserts, including the large steamer insert for 6-quart, 8-quart and 12-quart stockpots, are available as well. Stainless cookware sets are available in various sizes, from a starter 5-piece to a complete 10-piece set.

A Smaller, Useful Pan,

After getting the 10-inch version of this pan, I found a great deal on the 8-inch pan and picked it up for smaller jobs in the kitchen. This was a great decision.
8 inches *is* small for a lot of cooking and this shouldn't be your primary fry pan but it is great for doing smaller jobs on the side or for cooking up things for one or two people. I use this guy for eggs, meat and more. The pan heats really evenly and feels great in my hand. The handle does a great job of dispersing heat and staying cool, too. And, though it doesn't come with a lid, the medium lid from the All Clad pots fit it well. When things do stick, I don't worry about attacking it and scratching off the surface. I can use a scraper, sponge, or scouring pad without any problems. Metal can be used but it is more likely to scratch. And it is safe in the dishwasher although I recommend handwashing as much as possible. Some cooking tips I learned with this type of pan: Use a lower heat, not because you have to (like with non-stick), but because it heats so evenly, you often don't need that higher temperature. Also when you throw something in, whether you are using butter, oil, a spray, or nothing, let it sit and cook a bit before you try to move it around. Hamburger, for example, will adhere to the pan at first and if you try stirring it up right away, small pieces will be stuck and are more likely to burn. Rather, wait until it has a minute or two to cook on that side. The parts that adhere will cook, separate and lift away from the pan so you can stir it easier. And when you are done, if there is any food stuck to the pan, put some water in it and let it boil for a few minutes. This will help lift it off and make cleaning easier. Again, a great pan, a great brand, and definitely worth the money since it will last you a lifetime with the warranty they give you.

This small frypan is my main item. I cook for myself only (usually) and if anyone out there wants to try out the All-Clad line of cookware, this is the one to start with. Once you do, you, as I, will want to expand your collection of this superior product. You can get messy with it; you can make a mistake & have the heat too high, you can even leave it in the sink uncleaned for a day or two.....it will still clean up easily and look brand new. As stated in the ads, the handles really do stay cool; that's a nice change of pace! Not to mention the fact that the company is still in business; the lifetime guarantee really means something! Did I forget to say that this cookware is simply "beautiful?"

For most home chefs, All-Clad is the superior line of cookware. All-Clad stainless steel fry pans are excellent because they conduct heat so well. This 8-Inch pan is a good try-me size. I use it when cooking for myself or for making a 2-3 egg omelette.
