All-Clad Stainless All-Purpose Pan with Domed Lid

I ordered an All-Clad fry pan and was hooked on All-Clad stainless ever since. I finally realized it wasn't me but the cheap pans I had been using. And I've bought 5 different ones within the last year. But this pan doesn't compare. Actually its quite awful in my opinion. Its extremely light weight (almost cheap) and thin compared to the fry pans, french skillets, and saucepans I have. The lid to my saucepan is thicker than this pan. The spoon is better made than the pan. The first one I received had some imperfections inside the pan and you could see swirls where they were buffing it. Also where the handles are attached, there was a huge dent, almost a hole. I called All-Clad and they said it was defective so to return it to Amazon. I sent it back and the replacement still had the swirls and not as big of a dent by the handle. But because of the rapport with All-Clad I kept it. I've used it a couple of times, but its small and everything I have tried has burned regardless of what I do. I wish I could send it back. The best part of this whole deal is the red oven mitts since I brown my meats on the stove and then transfer the pans to the oven. The handles do get hot but these oven mitts help. Other than that, save your money and buy something better from All-Clad.

Check carefully before buying from All-Clad.
Many of their items are now being produced in China & quality has suffered.
I ordered a piece which Amazon's description said was made in the USA.

I called the company & they said ALL the braisers are now made in China but the quality is just as good.

NO......IT IS NOT!

The 3 ply is only on the bottom & does NOT go up the sides.
They are lighter in weight.
They are NOT usable on Induction Burners.

YES.....they are a bit lower in price....BUT STILL EXPENSIVE.

What bothers me is that All-Clad is being less than forthright in informing consumers
of their MADE IN CHINA merchandise.

Loving the All-Clad cooking experience myself, I bought two of these sets as gifts for my two daughters for Christmas. Both had expressed a need for new pans recently, but had "hinted" that they wanted one of the new sets stamped with a particular celebrity chef's name.

I really wanted them to have the experience of cooking with All-Clad, a pan that lasts a life-time, consistently bears great meals, and cleans up easily and perfectly. I anticipated some disappointment when they opened their Christmas gifts, as it registered to them that they got ONE pan rather than the next shiny colorful set bearing Rachel's name, a set that I was sure would be in the landfill in about 5 years - just as the previous less expensive sets they received are going. I sat confident though, as I witnessed the quick expression of disappointment quickly recovered with an appreciative smile, sigh, and thank yous as they opened their gifts.

But within a month, both daughters have come to me individually and stated how much they love their new All-Clad pan! They love the size, the versatility of use, the way it properly cooks everything they have used it for, and the way it practically wipes clean after cooling to room temperature. They have even begun their own hunts to begin building their own set of All-Clad pans for their own kitchen and families - My Christmas wish come true!

I ordered this pan a few years ago from another site because it was unavailable on Amazon at that time.

It is of the usual All Clad high quality. It is a versatile cooking pan that can be used on the stove top and in the oven. The aluminum core bottom makes it heat quickly and evenly which makes it more energy efficient to use. Of course, the heat must be adjusted accordingly to compensate for this or your food will cook too fast.

The included spoon and mitts are a nice addition.I use the red oven mitts when taking it out of the oven, but when needing to steady it on the stove top I prefer to use a Le Creuset Silicone Set of 2 Mini-Cool Tool, Dijon as a potholder for the handle. I also use these as coasters and to place in between items to keep them from sliding around and rubbing against eash other while traveling. If they become soiled I just wash them off in the sink. They do not stain and are very durable which makes them not have to be replaced frequently. This makes them kinder to my pocketbook and the environment.

I really appreciate it not having a long handle that would waste space in my RV cabinets.

It is neither a skillet, sauce, sauté, baking, steamer, broiler...it is all purpose with no specific purpose but an ability to kind of cook everything, however, it is partial in its quality. After calling ALL Clad, they suggested I get a refund, but since I purchased it at Amazon, I am stuck with it. I also was suckered into the free mitts + spoon, but you will see the pan without them for $50 less. Eggs will stick as well as any frying going on. They even said if I am frying eggs, I should get a non stick skillet. Dont be mislead by the positive comments which are probably just people working for AMZN trying to push this item. I am 100% dissatisfied and unable to return it because I bought it at Amazon.

I have purchased a variety of pans in the past, but I have to say this is my all time favorite. It is the perfect size for cooking for two. I had no idea the all-clad was so wonderful to cook with. It heats evenly and quickly. It goes from stove top to oven. It cleans up easily. I use this pan mainly for cooking meats and chicken. I have not tried eggs at this point, but would not hesitate to do so. I have finally found the pan I have always wanted.

I bought this to replace 2 skillets. The oldest was a coated corning glass one from 1994 where the coating started flaking away last year (I don't cook a lot). I hate to think what chemicals I ingested. Then I bought a lightweight skillet with a long handle at a discount-dept store near my house. It actually started warping the first time I cooked eggs in it! So I decided to do some research, as well as try to Buy USA. This set was the result. I am very happy with the weight of the pan and the fit of the lid, even though All-Clad clearly states that lids and other non-bonded items (like ladles) are made in China. The success of this set led me to purchase the Stainless Simply Soup Set last week, which I've already used once and am happy with. As someone else mentioned, I like that these items have 2 small handles on each side, instead of one long handle to get in the way when stored. Yes, these handles do get warm, depending on what you're cooking, but I keep holders nearby all the time anyway, for anything around the stove/oven. Between this and the new soup set, I don't think I need most of my old cookware now. And these quality items have inspired to start cooking more!

All-Clad pots and pans are a great product. The pans are built well with great heat distribution. We have used our original set everyday for 10 years, and they hold up to most anything and still look great. We are just adding to our collection. This is a great gift for someone who loves to cook.
