I love this steamer because it fits in All Clad sauce pans from 2 to 4 quarts. The other version with the long handle doesn't fit the 2-quart.

Works beautifully. Easy to care for (dishwasher safe).

Okay, I admit I have an All-Clad fetish after spending a small fortune on my Copper Core set, and a stainless non-stick skillet. So naturally I had to have this steamer insert as well. It looks just beautiful with the All-Clad pots, pretty enough to serve from at the table with company, and it performs MARVELOUSLY! Not a bit of steam escapes from either the connection at the pan, or from the steamer's lid. The food steams fast and furious and wonderfully--much better than with the old collapsible type steamer I used with my former Calphalon.

I also like that the moment the food is done, I can toss directly into the steamer a little butter or oil and some salt, and mix it around with the veggies quickly and easily--which was NOT the case with the collapsible type steamers that had to be removed from the pan before anything could be done to them (usually burning at least one finger or thumb!)

It fits my Copper Core 1.5 quart and 2 quart saucepans the best. It does fit the larger 4 quart saucepan as well, though the connection between the pot and steamer is not perfect--almost, but it does not seat perfectly as with the smaller saucepans, which if fine as they are all you need even even when steaming a large batch of veggies or clams in this steamer.

Highly recommend this piece of All-Clad for a splurge--you're worth it!

This steamer is not of the same quality as the USA manufactured All-Clad cookware. It is lighter in weight and the handles and lid are not as nicely constructed. You are mistaken if you think you are getting the real deal with this item! I am sending it back. The consumer ought to know what he/she is getting!

I was disappointed with this product because of the quantity of food that it accomodates. Steam holes do not cover the entire bottom of this steamer and food may scorch when not placed directly over the steam holes. Food can only be placed toward the bottom center of the steamer over the steam holes to prevent scorching. I have another stainless steamer that I prefer because steam holes cover the entire bottom of the steamer. However, this steamer is o.k. for steaming a smaller amount of food where all of the food fits over the steam holes in the center bottom of the steamer.

Agree with the review from C Coleman - in order to fit multiple size pots, the bottom of the pan is not flat but has two 'layers'. Generally fine for vegetables but not so good for dumplings or other items where everything needs to cook evenly flat on the bottom. Will look for a fit for purpose steamer. Otherwise, expected quality and finish.

I'm really mad at myself for waiting so long to get this! For years been just using the collapsable metal steamer inserts and I'm SO glad I switched. I've used the All-Clad steamer insert on average every other day. It's very easy to clean. The construction is everything you expect from all-clad. One thing I have to say is that it is deceptivly larger than I thought it would be based on the pictures. I was actually able to fit 5 medium ears of corn in it! I had initially had some issues with the price, but this is likely the last steamer I'll ever be buying.

We own a large number of All-Clad pots and pans. They are of very high quality and are made in the USA. We decided to buy a steamer as we make baby food for our 8 month old baby. My wife steams the food and then uses a food processor to mash it up. We went with the All-Clad steamer assuming the steamer would be the same high quality made in USA product as the pots and pans.

Don't be fooled. This is not the same high quality made in USA All-Clad. This All-Clad product is made in China and is very light weight and thin. They are charging the made in USA price for something that would likely cost $20 from any other Chinese manufacturer. We are returning the product and will find something else. Very disappointed.

I have looked at these for years, and wondered how an insert steamer would compare to the cheap aluminum leaf kind that we had used forever. I'm happy to report that this one is fantastic. It heats really fast and steams broccoli, green beans, carrots, etc. quite evenly. It fits both my all-clad 3 qt pot, and an old 2 qt revere ware saucepan quite nicely. It's great to be able to carry the whole thing to the table on a plate without having it fall over. I also use it as a collander. Well-made and worth the price of $55 that I paid.

Like any other All-Clad product, it is very well made. It does a fine job steaming veggies, or re-heating left-over pasta, etc. If you steam something that leaves a stain or residue, a little Bar Keeper's Friend will easily remove it and bring back that gorgeous shine. This steamer will last for generations. Love it!

You must buy this product! I have spent years improvising, using a metal colander as a steamer, until I purchased a new set of All Clad pans and thought I'd invest in one of these. This steamer is great to use with my All Clad saucepans and I think it would fit any regular-sized pan from other manufacturers up to 8" in diameter. I have only cooked vegetables so far but I think fish would be great cooked in it also. The lid also means that you don't have to use an ill-fitting lid from another pan, so there is no excess escaping of steam during the cooking process. The result is an evenly cooked vegetable. The handles allow you to take the steamer off the pan without burning your hands. Well done All Clad for all your fantastic products!
