Furthering the debate on the applications of the hanging tool rack..

Mounted properly to a secure point, the hanging rack can hold pots and pans without a problem. The weakest possible point on this structure will be the fastening points of the rack to the wall.

The hooks are stronger than pretty much anything that can be screwed in to the holes. The strength of the rack itself couldnt possibly be in question, its made of 18/10 stainless steel, you would need 100's of lbs of force to bend it. The rack is easily capable of holding pots and pans on every hook that weigh 10+ pounds. Maybe it was not designed to hang items as wide as a pan but this does not mean you cant buy 4 racks and still do it, they are very good looking.

Just because its called a "Hanging Tool Rack" doesnt mean you cant hang on it anything that can be hooked, everything you buy has a suggested use. Buy it and do what you like, bolt it to the wall in the garage and hang hammers on it, wont hurt my feelings!

5.0 out of 5 stars BINGO! No more falling pots and pans!, June 14, 2002

I have looked all over for a hanging pot rack that had the hooks somehow attached to it, so they wouldn't keep falling off. Well, only Amazon.com had it!!! BINGO -- EXACTLY what I was looking for. I wasn't for sure if it was going to fit the space I had for it, but ordered two, and it's going to work well in my kitchen. I like that is all-clad stainless steel and dishwasher safe, just for me to keep it looking nice. If you're tired of pots falling on you, this is the item to get. The hooks actually have a hole at the top so you slide the hook onto the rack and the design of the rack holds it away from the wall. What a FIND! I can't believe after all this time I found what I was looking for! Thank you Amazon. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, except I think I need to order just one more. :) After all I have a lot of pots and pans to hang! :)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great price and quality product, January 7, 2006

Own a super stainless steel pot holder and wanted three matching racks for hanging utensils and chose this product which turned out to be better than I imagined. I own alot of AllClad stainless cookware, so I know the brand well. What I love about this utensil rack is the hooks, which are hung within the rack itself and not like most hooks that are looped on a storage rack. I like this because when I go to grab a spoon, spatula, whisk etc I don't have to deal with the hook coming off as well. I also appreciate the clean lines and easy installation. Would like the opportunity to buy more hooks separately.

5.0 out of 5 stars NOT A POT HANGER!, April 8, 2003
By

Despit what another reviewer says of this product--it is NOT a pot hanger--it is a TOOL (fork, spoons, whisk, turner, etc) HANGER. It has six hooks for tools--you can get more directly from ALL CLAD ($5 for 4 additional hooks). The finish on the rack is pure ALL CLAD, first rate. However, the finish on the hooks is not quite up to par. But do not let that stop: with tools on it you cannot see the hooks. While it is great for hanging the teriffic ALL CLAD tools, don't even think about hanging pots/pans on it-that is NOT what it is designed for.

My wife absolutely "loves" these hanging tool racks. The area behind her big gas stove was empty until I hung up two of these. They look nice, are well built, hold a lot of utensils, and make them easily available. I read a lot of reviews that complained the hooks came off when getting the utensil off. These allclad hangers are designed so that the hooks cannot be pulled off, once they are mounted.

These (I bought two) were easy to mount and look great mounted side-by-side right under the stainless steel back plate of my cooktop hood. The two of them span the width of the 36" hood and look almost integral to it. Being All-Clad, they are of high quality, beautifully polished, hefty stainless steel. I like that the hooks slide easily back and forth on the racks; sometimes the utensils get hot if they are above a burner with a high flame, and I can just push them to the side.

Maybe I just lucked out, but mine came with 6 hooks each. The photo on the product page hooks doesn't show the hooks very clearly; to see what they look like, go to All-Clad Stainless Hooks for Hanging Rack.

I use mine for utensils; I wouldn't suggest using these racks for pots, not because they're not strong enough---sturdily mounted, they would be---but because they are only 18" long (come on, people, read the product description). Only two pots, or maybe three small ones, would fit on each rack.

We saw some complaints that people received the item without hooks and hardware, but assumed they were flukes. We ordered 2 and sure enough, no hooks or hardware. We sent for a replacement, saying that the hooks and hardware weren't included. Today we got a replacement set - no hooks, no hardware. I would suggest you don't bother ordering this.

I hung this rack over my stove for easy access to my most frequently used items. I have my favorite frying pan as well as my favorite tools within easy reach. No more rummaging through the drawer or bending over to find my favorite pan. I highly recommend this as a back saver for us retired folks.

4.0 out of 5 stars Would have given 5 stars had the bars been longer (my ONLY complaint), August 20, 2008
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless Hanging Tool Rack (Kitchen)
I purchased two of these bars when they were on sale. I had expected to be able to hang more pots and pans on them however, they are a bit short but absolutely top-quality and beautiful to boot. They would look great in an expensive custom kitchen or in an older apartment kitchen (like mine). I have worked on custom kitchens before and again these bars/hanges would look great in any kitchen.

I only hit one stud when hanging two of these very nice (but short) bars. I used hollow wall toggle bolts in the three places I didn't hit a stud and that made the bar strong enough to hang cast iron pots on with no worries about the bar coming loose. If you use the less sturdy hollow wall anchors included with the bar then you might have problems hanging anything but aluminum pots or pans. Hanging utensils isn't a problem using the included hollow wall anchors since they don't weigh enough to loosen the bar once installed.

Be aware that the bars are so short that you will do well to hang 3 pots/pans on each bar. You can hang more utensils without a problem, however, the bars looked so good after I hung them up I decided to use the two I installed to hold pots and pans - rather than utensils. Because of the length of the bar, I could only get three pots/pans to hang on each bar, but they look great there and being directly over the stove it's very handy to have the most frequently pots and pans hung up right over the stove and the hooks cannot come off when removing a pot/pan or utensil because they are actually slipped onto the bar before installation and cannot come off when removing or replacing an hanging item.

The fit and finish is perfect All Clad quality - and not some cheap plated bars. As far as I can tell, they are highly polished SOLID stainless steel bars. If you happen to see these bars on sale for around a sawbuck (that's two 5's or half of a twenty for you younger folks) then buy a few more than you think you'll need. They have other uses as well and the quality can't be beat.
