A little gem.,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 7 1/2 Inch Fry Pan (Kitchen)
I've used stainless steel cookware in the past. Since then, they've all been replace with non-stick. I know All-Clad is a name synonymous with the best (or may even be the best), but stainless steel is stainless steel, and All-Clad is expensive. When I saw Amazon selling this one for a decent price, I decided to give it a try. Since the first time I've used it, I'm constantly amazed at how this little pan cooks, and the metal handle does stay cool (unless you stick it in the oven). It is solid, well built. Hand washing is a breeze. What I didn't anticipate, was the joy of using this little cookware and buying more All-Clad.

Good things, small packages, and small price tags,

This is simply a great little pan -- emphasis on both "great" and "little." Like all the pieces in this All-Clad line, this pan will last your lifetime unless you absolutely abuse it. But before you buy it get out a ruler and be sure you realize how small 7 inches really is. It's even a bit too small to do a decent omelette in, in my opinion. But in tandem with larger pans and for small saute jobs it's indispensable, and at this price well more than worth the purchase. If you're starting from nothing and need a main fry pan, you really should be looking at least at the 10-inch or, more realistically, the 12-inch pan. However, while you're at it, pick this one up, too -- since you really need to have at least one "support pan" anyway -- and count the money you saved here against both pans.

7" pan is NOT what it should be!,
By Reader (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 7 1/2 Inch Fry Pan (Kitchen)
I cook with All-Clad's best stainless cookware. This 7" fry pan is not the same as those made in the USA: it does NOT have the unbelievably smooth mirror finish on the interior surface that contributes to All-Clad's great reputation. It is a cheaper version made in China with an uneven graded interior cook surface. Please be aware before you decide to buy.

A Truly Awesome Pan!,

I've heard good things about All-Clad products for years, and this pan was my first introduction to cooking with All-Clad. I find that it heats evenly and well, looks fabulous on the overhead pot & pan rack, and feels superb in my hand when I need to lift or move the pan. This is a friendly little pan that is perfect for frying up a couple of eggs, sauteing a sauce, or reheating a single-serving item. The only problem I encountered with this pan was that food (especially sugary food) sometimes sticks to it. This doesn't have to be a problem, though, if you add sufficient oil when you cook -- and afterwards (if something did stick), you can scrub it clean with baking soda and water for a final finish that's also environmentally correct.

never any hot spots,
By Mary L McGough (Afton, MN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 7 1/2 Inch Fry Pan (Kitchen)
This little pan won't ever get hot spots, so you don't have to worry about burning your sauteed garlic (or any other veggie you may have in the pan). Now this pan is too small to do a lot, so if you are just starting your kitchenware collection, you might want to start with a 10" chef's pan, a Dutch oven, and a 2qt saucepan. But if you have most of the items you need and are at that "specialty" collection level, this pan will certainly go with the rest of your cookware.

All Clad Rocks,
By A Customer
This review is from: All-Clad Stainless 7 1/2 Inch Fry Pan (Kitchen)
This cookware is some of the best out there. I know this from knowing Chefs that use it as well as myself. I am just starting my collection, and bought the 7.5 inch fry pan and it is great for certain things but not for eggs. I am going to try an All-Clad non stick for my various egg dishes as they will not stick. The fry pan will stick with eggs without fail. A little hint on a review I read, if you get any blueish/discoleration at any time, do not put it in the dishwasher thinking it will get all of the blue out of it. If your cookware turns blue, it is generally from high heat or boiling water, etc. Go to the grocery and get either a can of Barkeepers Friend or Cameo cleanser. It is non abrasive and if you put a little water and form a paste, it cleans stainless steel anything up like new. Do not use it on the outer surface of your cookware as it can dull the shiny finish of All-Clad. Just a thought to help frustrated people keep their cookware nice and make it last for a long time.All-Clad is highly respectable cookware.PS: Know I do not work for either of the two names mentioned above.(lol)

Great pan,

I hesitated buying any All-Clad after I saw some reviews about things sticking (some magical substance caused it). I figured they didn't heat the pan correctly. I just cooked two eggs in this small pan, perfect for breakfast. If eggs don't stick, nothing else will, either. No sticking, looks like new, and the look is just great. It makes you feel good just getting it out. The pan is really built well, no doubt it will last a lifetime. I am going to buy a set.

best cookware ever,

I used to work in a kitchen Store. We sold alot of All-Clad. It's the best quality cookware on the planet. It's super heavy duty and will last forever. It is definitely worth the price. I love the fact that they are hand crafted in the USA. The 7 1/2 inch fry pan is perfect for single serve saute, grilled cheese or whatever you want to cook. The pan conducts heat really well so I recommend cooking on a lower heat for things like eggs and grilled grilled cheese. On the stainless steel surface(like all s/s pans) you might want a little oil because some things can stick. This makes an excellent gift and Amazons price is incredible! I recommend this to all cooks

Why would anyone buy anything else?,

I cook almost every meal at home and have owned 2 resturants over the years. I have two other brands of cookware and none can compare with Iron Clad. They cook evenly and heat very quickly, this 7 inch skillet does a great job on breakfast items nothing sticks and unlike Circulon does not leave circles on the omelets. The clean up is quick, however over the years the exterior shine does deminish. I highly recomend this pan and the entire line of All Clad cookware, they are the best!

This is a fine SMALL pan, with the emphasis on SMALL. Not an everyday use pan, unless you live alone and have no appetite, but a quality product nonetheless. I don't think I'll use it much, but it replaces an old Revereware pan without a handle and the price couldn't be beat.
