All-Clad Stainless Large Soup Ladle

This thing just feels nice in your hands. Could also be used as a handy whacker. The lip makes it pour clean and so it does not make a mess. The long handle makes it useful for many things, mostly related to taking about a cup of liquid or liquidy stuff from one container (even the deeper ones) and transporting it to another container with a twist of the wrist, the great pour. A thing of beauty and perfection. I can't believe I'd been using a measuring cup for 18 years.

This ladle holds 6 oz, so it's nice and big. The stainless makes it nice and weighty. The long handle feels good in hand. It's also beautiful enough to bring to the table. Clean up is easy, hand wash or toss it in the dishwasher to make it sparkle.

This All-Clad ladle is a beauty you'll wonder how you ever did without. Before I bought this, my drawers held only gravy/sauce ladles. You know, those short little things that'll fall down inside your pot and your soup. Buy one of these and suffer that fate no more! Now that I own this, I truly enjoy preparing big pots of stew or soup. You'll feel like a real chef when you dish up portions to your family or friends.

I love the All-Clad cooking tools and this Soup Ladle comes free with the All-Clad 3.5 QT Soup Pot (which is also very nice). I managed to pick up the kit for 1/2 price on special from another retailer. 80% of my All-Clad cookware has been purchased on these kinds of sales, so I sit around and wait for them to come up!

The ladle follows the rest of the All-Clad equipment in that it is constructed with a very substantial handle and is solid stainless steel. As long as its not lost or stolen, this will be the last ladle you'll ever need to buy.

What can I say, except that it's All-Clad? We needed a new soup ladle, after our old, cheap one broke after many years of use. So I decided to splurge a bit and get one that will last. The stainless steel finish is beautiful (almost makes me not want to use it lest I sully it with fingerprints!), and the ladle fairly heavy and of strong construction.

A great addition to anyone's kitchen.

This is one great sturdy ladle! Like any All-Clad stainless product, it's constructed of solid and heavy stainless so it handles heavy soup or stew items without any bending or flexing in the stem. Also, because the bowl of the ladle is the larger of the two sizes available, it makes scooping portions quick and easy. Best of all, it's dishwasher safe!!

I got a few of these tools when I got my All Clad pots and pans and they are very elegant and sturdy. They certainly go with the set and seem very durable. I am even thinking of buying a few more. However, and this has nothing to do with the way they are made or All Clad's quality (that is why I still gave the item four stars), but I did burn my hand terribly on my stainless ladle shortly after receiving it. Needless to say, I now exercise great caution when using these tools. I had many pots on the stove and this ladle was resting on a plate adjacent to the range. I did not realize that the tip of this instrument was touching one of my pots and went to grab it and my hand was burned very badly (think keep it in a bowl of cold water for hours and immediate blisters, badly) I do not blame anyone but myself for this accident, but you should know that stainless steel instruments will conduct heat as well as the pots themselves (the reason we like them so much!). Imagine if you were serving soup and left this resting in a metal pot on low heat...

I switched to these tools because I hate using plastic utensils in the kitchen at such high temperatures. In fact, I am trying to move away from plastic in general because who knows what chemicals leech out of them into our food while we cook. While I am definitely glad I made the switch, I must remind everyone to keep my story in mind when you're cooking with these nice tools!

I've only bought a few ladles in my life but this one weighs about the same as a small pot. Amazing build quality and feels great to use.
Weight may be an issue for some but I love it. Hopefully this ladle will last me for the rest of my life.

I have all of the all clad utensils, and couldn't be happier. A large bowl, and balanced feel. This will outlive you.

I expected All Clad to design a decent ladle. This ladle is heavy and unwieldy. There is a groove at the top of the handle that hurts my hand when I hold it. I can't figure out a position to hold it in that makes it usable. I can't think of what to do with it--there is no one to give it to and I cannot use it.
