I bought this skimmer approx. one year ago and I use it more then I ever thought. Great kitchen utensil. And yes - it looks good and the quality is all there - the last one I'll ever have to buy.

This is the best quality skimmer I've ever seen, but it is so heavy that its functionaly is in question. Hence, 4 stars instead of 5.

Get a Mesh strainer,

This review is from: All-Clad Stainless Skimmer (Kitchen)
All Clad utensils are made in China for the most part, but I still have a full set of tools with several add on tongs, fish turners, etc. The skimmer just isn't as functional as the pure mesh style skimmers. Sure it can skim out large items like bay leaves, bones, etc., but the foam and other minuscule items you really need to strain out just pass on through.
This purchase I probably should have returned. The large and hand held mesh strainers may need to be replaced every few years, but they do the job with far more efficiency. The build quality of the all clad strainer is very high as usual, but the functionality isn't there.
