Book Description

March 8, 2004
The Las Vegas police are plagued with burglaries. Two detectives devise an ingenious scheme to combat the thieves and burglars. Pose as fences and buy the evidence from the crooks. With the help of the District Attorney's office and the FBI, the sting is on. Join with the undercover law enforcement personnel as they solve the problems associated with a scheme never tried before. Be there as the crooks arrive with their ill-gotten gains. Enjoy the wrap-up party where the thieves expect one thing and get another. Read the court dialog that catches the accused in a lie and how his defense attorney comes very close to disbarment. Finally read the justice that is meted out to the gang members who are out to sway the verdict of the four men accused of murdering a car salesman and selling the evidence to the undercover officers.

More About the Author

Born with police blood in my veins, I remained with it. First as a Army Military Policeman, then Air Force Security Policeman and ended up as a special agent of the Air Force Office of Special Investigations conducting criminal and counter-intelligence cases. Retiring as a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) I still needed to work to provide. I was hired by the Las Vegas District Attorneys office to work special investigations as part of a team of eleven. Conducted surveillance of organized crime figures then participated with local police and the "Feds" in the first long term undercover police sting in the US. Tired of looking long haired and evil, I sought employment with the Nevada State Gaming Control Board as an Enforcement Agent and became their expert and cheating and cheating detection and testified at state and local trials until retirement. Not being terribly excited at watching soaps or the grass grow I did some contract work for the casinos as the "Eye in the Sky" and for the US Army conducting covert surveillance on commercial trucks carrying sensitive equipment and ammunition. On 9-11 the job stopped for obvious reasons. I began writing about some of my experiences and made them into historical fiction novels.

5.0 out of 5 stars The history of the first police "sting" in history, July 10, 2006
This review is from: All Crooks Welcome (Paperback)
John Miller was an investigator with the Clark County (NV) DA's office. Along with other members of law enforcement they initiated the first sting - buying stolen property from the crooks so the crooks could be prosecuted at a later date. At times the crooks will make you laugh and at other times you want to jump into the pages and bring the crooks to justice yourself.
