Review

"Wei Wu Wei goes right for the root. He takes away everything, and leaves nothing. Then he takes that away." --Joan Tollifson, author of Bare-Bones Meditation

From the Publisher

Wei Wu Wei, an anonymous Westerner, joins Paul Reps, Alan Watts, and Philip Kapleau as one of the earliest and most profound interpreters of Zen Buddhism and Taoist philosophies. The depth of understanding evidenced in All Else is Bondage places it in the top tier of modern spiritual classics. In the years since Wei Wu Wei's work was originally published, his stature has only increased. Well-read, educated at Oxford, and widely traveled, Wei Wu Wei brought a modern sensibility to the ancient texts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Something to Blow your mind !, August 4, 2004
By
Steve Bennet (North Haverbrook, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: All Else Is Bondage: Non-Volitional Living (Paperback)
This final installment of the Wei Wu Wei series from Sentient Publications is one of the best. Wei Wu Wei shows us that somethings are indefineable and we must embrace uncertainty in the meanings we seek. Certainly not for the faint of heart but well worth it for anyone who strives to understand the world as we experience it. A must read for those of us who love a change in perspective.

5.0 out of 5 stars We really are mistaken, January 13, 2006
This review is from: All Else Is Bondage: Non-Volitional Living (Paperback)
In one of the earliest of his books the author keeps driving the same non-nail into the same non-coffin with the same non-hammer until it begins to sink in that we really are mistaken in what we have all agreed is the universe. If he goes too far, no harm done, for anyone who understands it that well will always be safe. When a dear friend of mine was with him seven years before his passing he seemed to forget he had written this book. I am grateful that he did.
