5.0 out of 5 stars All Else Is Bondage, Non-Volitional Living, May 3, 2000
This review is from: All Else Is Bondage: Non-Volutionary Living (Paperback)
All that I could find out about the author of this book is that he was, if I recall correctly, an Irish aristocrat who realized the Truth and shared his thoughts about it with others through the few of his books. His true name is unknown to general public. I do not know it either, although the subject of the book is such that the true name is not significant.

This is a rare book on a fashionable subject of spiritual search. If one were to use key words to reflect the content of the book, he (or she) could use the following: self-realization, enlightenment, God, buddism, zen, etc.

However, these key words fail to convey the profound, astonishing, penetrating impact of the truth so concisely pointed at by the author. The book leads the reader in so many ways to the fact that has been stated and restated over centuries by a succession of Buddahs: there is no I, the world may be said to be a dream, we are not at all what we think we are, we are just NO THING.

It is impossible to describe this book that is a rare pearl in the massive flux of "spiritual" publications. It is quite austere with every sentence containing a world of meaning. I would discourage an average spiritual seeker from reading this book, let alone someone who just stumbled across this title. However, if you decide to read it, this will not be accidental, as there are no accidents in such matters. I will not be surprised if having read the book some seeking soul will suddenly realize the Truth.

And finally from the book: "There is no mystery whatever - only inability to percieve the obvious"
