Classic Cripster Heat!,

Havikk and Prodeje are back at it! This has classic bangers for real. If u got beat in yo ride, this slumps! All gangsta rap with boomin' backdrop. And the best part is no more B.S. 2 minute speeches by Havoc (The mouthpeice, not Havikk). I still roll to tracks like Gangsta Love Pt.2, and All Day, Everyday. All tracks are the are off the rack for sheezelle. Cut it on in yo ride and Dip. Right...Right.

For thier 3rd complete group album and their first in almost 3 years for all 6 members (not counting Havoc & Prode'je's releases) this is definitely their best of the 7 they have out as of 2005. It should have sold very well but Def Jam screwed them like they do to all artists from the west (Warren G, Richie Rich, Jayo Felony to name a few). It is filled with great G-Funk beats and uses some great samples from some classic oldies songs. Production is mostly handled by Prode'je, with some help from Havikk, Robert "Fonksta" Bacon, and Tomie Mundy. With Richie Rich & Sean T each doing 1 song. Packed with 17 songs, 3 are ok, the rest are very good or great songs. Guests are on no songs other then doing a few of the hooks. A must have great west coast G-Funk album.
#1 - 9 (good beat) #2 - 8.5 #3 - 7.5 #4 - 8.5 (good sample of some classic Marvin Gaye) #5 - 9 (good beat) #6 - 9 (another good beat) #7 - 9 (once again -- good beat) #8 - 8.5 (upbeat faster song) #9 - 9.5 (great beat) #10 - 8 #11 - 8 #12 - 9 (good beat) #13 - 8.5 #14 - 8.5 #15 - 7.5 #16 - 8.5 #17 - 7.5 South Central Cartel is: Prode'je, Havoc, Havikk, L.V., DJ Kaos, DJ Gripp Check all my reviews

This album is da bomb! I bump this everyday. I love the smooth g-funk sounds and the strong rhyming. This is one of the best rap c.d.'s I have ever bought. If you love that Cali flava, then this is a must have. Gangsta Luv Pt. II is off the hook, and so is All Day Everyday, and so is just about everything else on it. Buy this album!

To tell you the truth, I'm not familiar with the SCC, and I stumbled across this album randomly, after reading the reviews here about this album. South Central Cartel's "All Day Everyday" is their second album on Def Jam, which followed their 1994 album N Gatz We Truss. As many have realized, when it comes to West Coast artists, Def Jam really pays no attention to them and puts no promotional money behind their LP's, which is sad because albums that came from the label from the west, like this one, was great.
To tell you the truth, the main highlight would be the production. Many people would quickly realize the 70's and 80's soul samples that are worked into the production. Like "It Don't Stop", Prodeje sampled a popular Marvin Gaye song for the group to rhyme to. "Da Bomb" is another great song over a Isley Brothers sample that makes the track a highlight. Then the next song, "Champange Wishes" is actually perfect with Havikk the Rhyme Son and Prodeje rhyming over Luther Vandross' "Never Too Much". In fact, I would say that that is the best track on the album. Okay, enough about production. The lyrics on this album are good. Majority of the songs here are about life in the hood. The title track "All Day Everyday" surrounds that subject matter, as well as the following track "Hit The Chaw" (another dope beat btw). Lyrically, the group didn't have too much to offer, as for any new rhymes brought to the table. At the same time, fans of any kind of gangsta rap will be satisfied. But overall, "All Day Everyday" is a great album. All of the songs here are well produced, which is a big highlight for this album. It's a shame that Def Jam let this go out of print, but to be honest, I would say it's worth the 30 bucks it's being sold for. As mentioned before, Def Jam didn't put a dime into this album, nor there was any radio play for this album. And the media didn't make any matters better (this album received 2 1/2 mics in The Source). But this album is highly recommended, if you're a fan of West Coast or 90's rap. Peace. Lyrics: B+ Production: A+ Guest Appearances: N/A Musical Vibes: A+ Top 5 Tracks: 1. Champange Wishes (personal favorite) 2. All Day Everyday 3. It Don't Stop 4. Da Bomb 5. ***** Get Dealt Wit Honorable Mention: 1. Hit The Chaw 2. Gangsta Luv Pt. 2

South Central Cartel emerged in the early 90s as a follower of N.W.A. and Compton's Most Wanted, delivering no-frills gangsta rap to a strictly underground fanbase and continues to do so today, fifteen years later. Their third full-group album, 1997's "All Day Everyday," is the gem of their huge catalog. After the underground success of their sophomore album, 1994's N Gatz We Truss, SCC was primed to break through to the mainstream, signed to hip hop superlabel Def Jam for their next LP. However, due to Def Jam's inability or unwillingness to promote their West Coast artists (just ask Jayo Felony, Richie Rich, The Dove Shack, Twinz, or Warren G), this album wasn't the breakthrough they anticipated, and it remains their only major-label release to this day.
SCC is a six-man group led by Havoc and Prodeje (whose names are the subject of probably the greatest coincidence in hip hop), who also maintained a steady career releasing albums as a duo. The group really is never going to wow you on the microphone; they give the impression that they're gangstas first and rappers second. Their tales of slangin', gang-bangin', ridin', and servin' heat don't really stand out from those of many of their West Coast contemporaries. Their approach is a very simple one, and there's no flashiness or flair to their rugged verses. But the rappers all have very distinct and on-point flows and deliveries, which does set them apart in a respect. What makes "All Day Everyday" so good is the production. There is not a single weak beat on this album. The beats take the form of a rawified g-funk, incredibly smooth but with an obvious rough edge. The beats are slow and very funky and soulful, with some pounding bass laced on each track just to keep them street-level. The sampling is clever and flawless, and this album has some of the finest and most enjoyable beats of the mid-90s g-funk era. At seventeen long tracks, this is the kind of CD that you can put in the player in the car or on the boombox and just let it spin; you'll feel no need to skip a track of the laidback funk. The album has a great, consistent feel, and is executed incredibly well. The album kicks off with a bang, the excellent "West Coast Gangstas," which has a phenomenal beat and a nice hook, this song has the kind of production you want to hear over and over again, and the verses are all done nicely. The more upbeat "I'm a Rider" showcases a steady funk, another excellent cut. After the very enjoyable "N...s Git Dealt With" comes an early highlight, the gorgeous "It Don't Stop," which turns a classic Marvin Gaye sample into a soulful hip hop classic. The title track is also wonderful, a gang anthem with more great production and some of the best rhymes on the album. After the decent "Hit the Chaw," SCC drops a little deeper insight on the smooth "G's Game," with some slow and soulful production and a nice chorus. "4 Yo Ear" is a weaker song, the hook isn't very good at all, but otherwise the song's not bad. "WC Rookie" is much better, a slow, bass-heavy thumper. "Can I Roll Wit U" is slow-rolling musical brilliance, and "Da Bomb" is one of the best songs of all, which a perfect beat and great vibes, the verses are well-written and passionate and this song just feels really good. Another of my favorites is the awesome "Champagne Dreams," where SCC fantasizes over luxury and money over a joyfully crafted beat. "Funk U Up" and "No Get Bacc" are both well-produced late-album tracks, and "Gangsta Luv Pt. 2" is also nice. The album closes pretty strongly with "S.C.G.'z" and "Family Thang." I was dismayed to see that this album has recently gone out of print, but as it's not too hard to find today, I highly recommend it to fans of West Coast hip hop. Fans of CMW and MC Eiht will love "All Day Everyday" for the raw street lyrics, and fans of Warren G and Tha Dogg Pound will adore the smooth, catchy production. This is the gem of an established group's impressive catalog, and I strongly suggest hip hop fans take the initiative to add it to the collection, as they are sure to get plenty of enjoyment from it.

This was the last good album from hav & prod. The 'south central madness','livin' in a crime wave', 'n'gatz we truss', 'kickin game' albums and this are the ones to get. Everything after wasn't that good. The production is tight and the flows are tight. It's a must have if you like westcoast with quality. Also checkout the 'murdersquad' albums which were classics too with tracks like 'no peace' and 'touch on wood' and other good tracks. Peace!
