Asian american literature has melded into it's own world. Sometimes they are a bit predictable. Striving for that A, fathers and family turning their back. This has all of that, and then some.

Steamy, adult level erotica with the all american asian girl in class. This has me thinking all sorts of sordid things aming my female friends. Where did you go after school all that time. Babysitting? Girls aren't usually that excited to babysit, but now I can understand why you would be.

Written in first person, this story shoots straight into your conscious. All of a sudden I am a 14 yr old babysitter and man this guy is really into me, how cool! Or so I thought.

Moving through generations, of a young girl coming into her own, it is unique in that you can identify with the main character, Tina. The steamy parts *gasp* add an element missing from asian-american literature. Horniness and damn the law, I'm getting some mentality!

MOst of all the novel moved so fast because it didn't throw me into a foreign environment. If anything, it's a story about the girl next door, except she's asian, and hot!

This book is out of my usual genre of sci-fi, YA, urban fantasy and adult contemporary romance.

To say the least, this book was quite a surprise. It jumps right into the plot and gives us the back story as the book progresses. I did have a few questions while reading, but they were answered within a few pages/chapters.

It is simple righting that works. It gets the emotions and message out as easily as a writer who writes very complex.

It was well written that I was able to relate to the two main characters- Tina and Wei-Ting. I had to put the book down a few times because of the emotions it was bringing out in me. I found myself yelling at the book within the first two chapters.

One thing I did wish was for more relationship development between the Tina and Johnny. It felt a little rushed. I was hoping to see what happened to them a few years later.
