Not just for girls!...i think...*blush*,

i just bought this cd and have really been enjoying it...it was suggested to me by a friend after i told them that i enjoyed other music that fit the same genre (not all girl rock, but good stuff)...i was told that i might not enjoy this cd, because i'm a boy, and this is, of course, girly indie twee pop. I love it! i wouldn't let all the "this is girly" stuff deter the guys from buying it, because, even though it is girly stuff...it's brilliant girly stuff!

Band name apt description,

Fun pop (in an early-60s way) filtered through girls who grew up with modern indie music. Band member Jen Sbragia is one-half of the oh-so-dreamy Softies. This album has no pretentions of being "serious music", yet is one of the best I've bought this year. Cotton candy, but will not leave you with a stomach ache. It's a bit short by CD standards (27 minutes); inclusion of the songs from their debut 7 inch EP would have been nice. Still, this album keeps finding its way back into my CD player.

Similar to the earlier stuff,

Idealistic girl love for boys played out over simple guitar rifs for 13 or 14 straight songs gets a bit redundant. The lead singer does have a very sweet, melliflous voice, but the sound is a derrivative of the 7 inch product. The music is fun to listen to, but gets very tiring very quickly. Jen Sbragia is superb with Rose Melberg, but without her she loses her edge.
