Editorial Reviews

With his new 2012 release All Grown Up, Shilts has raised the bar yet again.  With ten original tracks of soul,  jazz, RnB & funk, the tenor sax maestro brings his influences and experience with some high energy hooks and sweet jazzy melodies.  The writing is fresh and creative and captures Shilts at his best, along with some of LA's top session musicians.  Also featured is Oscar® and Grammy Award® nominated songstress Siedah Garrett on the sweet and uplifting song “Got Love.”  This album is sure to be one of the big hits of 2012.

Slammin'...Shilts has hit this one "out of the park"! I've always been a big fan (going back to Down to the Bone), but this has got to be his most creative, fresh, and mature recording to date. Every track is a jewel in itself, and every time I listen to it, I get more chills...more excitement. This should be a must-have for your collection, and may very well be one of the best recordings of 2012!

Good music. Easy listening. I heard Shiltz on a cruise and didn't know he had played with Down to the Bone.

I'm personally acquainted with Shilts via email, and on top of being a great (and I mean GREAT) musician, he's also a super-nice down to earth chap who is always glad to take the time to converse win his fans. So per his personal request, here's a review to help promote this new release.

As for the album, words can't really express how fantastic it is. He even covered his own "Got Love", now with excellent lyrics. I'm not usually a fan of covers, but this is a smashing good version. Not to say the original was any less amazing, but he gave it new life and now it's a new favorite of mine. The melodic patterns and driving grooves contained in this album keep the 'head boppin' from start to finish. An excellent supporting cast of musicians also give the set a unique flavor that stands out from the crowd. Call it smooth jazz if you wish, but that description can't remotely begin to cover the tastes of jazz, funk, & soul present throughout.

Once again, Doctor Shilts has prescribed a heavy dose of tunes that serve as a remedy for the plague of poor-quality music so prevalent nowadays. The only side effect is a load of involuntary smiles that come without warning as one listens to this new masterpiece.

Most albums I've heard over my relatively short 25yr life have had at least one "clunker" that just didn't meet the artists true potential, but not so with ANY of Shilts' albums, including this latest creation. Thus my question: How does he do it??

Get ready to be amazed...again!

without reservations, this is his finest. A "must have" in any music library. His newest single has already reached the top 20 in smooth jazz. Way to go, Paul
