This is a wonderful book for any fairy lover. I know this site recommends it for children 4 to 8 years old, however, all ages of fairy lovers will love it. I bought several copies for friends my own age and over and I am nearly retirement age. Both the author and illustrator do a wonderful job. You will do yourself a favor by buying a copy to add to your fairy book collection.

I love this book - its the sweetest Halloween explaination I've ever heard. Before kids are ready for spooks and scares, this can help be a great introduction to dressing up and visiting neighbors. I love the characters and the illustrations - i can't wait for the sequel!

As the fun of summer wears off, The Story of the Halloween Fairy brings children an introduction to the fall traditions of color, make believe and the spirit of giving which starts with preparation for Halloween, moves into the spirit of Thanksgiving and cumulates with the traditional religious holidays of Christmas and Hanukah. This story weaves the spirit of giving into the Halloween tradition and away from the bounty of a bag full of candy...and the resulting belly ache!

I have 3 small children, and 2 on the way. I read the story to my 6 year old and my three year old sons and they were entranced. It is remarkable how much they liked the story. When that is coupled with the amazing illustration it is sure to please children at any age. I look forward to reading it to my 10 month old and the twins when they are ready. Hats off to the Johnson's for a spectacular piece of work. The illustrations alone are worth the price. Like the other reviews we too recommend it for all ages and it truly is a book that will become a Hallow's Eve tradition.

What a great idea this book promotes. My daughter is 2 1/2 and doesn't get candy very often. I've been wondering how I would handle Halloween because I want her to enjoy the traditional dressing up and trick-or-treating but DON'T want her to eat all that candy. We are going to give this a try and see what happens. In any case, the book is beautiful. The writing is clever and fun and the illustrations are outstanding! I'm buying it for all my friends!

This is a wonderful story to share with your kids! It was nice to read a Halloween story to my daughter that wasn't scary. This story gave background information on Halloween that had to do with friends and sharing, not death or ghosts. The pictures were unbelievable and the story left us wanting more. I hope more stories about Eve are going to follow this one!

I bought this book when it was first published in 2005 and have brought it out every Halloween since. It has been through 3 grandchildren, and all have loved it and shared it with their classmates. Absolute best Halloween book ever...for all ages.

I just finished reading this with my 5 year old and I can't say enough good things about this book. The pictures and story are GREAT!! I am now going to buy the two other books written by this author. If you order this book you won't be disappointed!!!

This is a wonderful book with a wonderful story! My kids love collecting candy on Halloween to leave for the Fairy Eve. And they love waiting to see what toy Eve has made them in return for their candy. It is something they looked forward to for weeks before Halloween! We'll continue this tradition for years to come.

. . .enough said. Buy this book. It makes a great gift for children of all ages.
