5.0 out of 5 stars Look no further.....this is definitely the one you want
Spanning a period of more than 20 years and containing hits from 4 different labels, this Australian import is clearly the finest B.J. Thomas collection ever assembled. The first cut is the 1966 classic "Billy and Sue" which was released on Nashville's Hickory label. What follows are 18 cuts containing just about every one of B.J.'s hits on the Scepter label...

Spanning a period of more than 20 years and containing hits from 4 different labels, this Australian import is clearly the finest B.J. Thomas collection ever assembled. The first cut is the 1966 classic "Billy and Sue" which was released on Nashville's Hickory label. What follows are 18 cuts containing just about every one of B.J.'s hits on the Scepter label. Everyone is familiar with his biggest hits "Hooked on A Feeling" and of course his signature song "Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head", but frankly I am partial to some of his lesser known hits including "The Eyes of A New York Woman", "Mighty Clouds of Joy" and "Mama". But whatever your preference you will surely find them all here. Also included are a couple of his hits for MCA including "Another Somebody Done Somebody Wrong Song" as well as well as hit remake of the Beach Boys classic "Don't Worry Baby".
The final two cuts are from his days at Columbia. At this point in the mid-eighties, his records were only being played on country and adult contemporary stations. In my opinion, "Whatever Happened to Old Fashioned Love?" is one of his best discs ever. So spend an extra few bucks and pick up one of the best values you'll ever find.

5.0 out of 5 stars This IS the Ultimate!!!, May 8, 2001

At last a collection that REALLY lives up to it's title! This collection includes all of BJ's big and most popular hits. It is arrainged in cronological order and covers his 1960's, 70's and 80's hits! The quality of the CD is also noteworthy. Sometimes with collections that cover such a wide range of years, usually lack a consistancy and fullness to each song. This one doesn't! It is great! You feel like they were all recorded today, but they are all original recordings! Enjoy!

If you've wanted all of BJs hits on one CD, then this CD is for you! Chronicles his career from "Billy and Sue", to his last big hit,"What Ever Happened to Old-Fashioned Love?". All excellent recordings from original master tapes on BMG. It is only a shame that most of the best compliations by the great american pop/rock artists are only available on import CDs due to the greed factor by domestic labels for distribution in the US. In any event, this CD is worth the wait! You will want to keep this one in your permanent collection. This is a definate 5 star CD!

This is the most comprehensive collection of BJ Thomas hits out there, and sounds great too. If you like BJ Thomas, this is definitely the "Greatest Hits" CD to get.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great collection!, May 11, 2007

This is a great collection of BJ Thomas's hits, 24 of them. The only knock on this cd is that some of the songs have audible tape hiss which has been a problem with some of his other hits collections. Still, it's well worthwhile to listen to and is the best collection I've heard of of his recordings, especially the earlier ones.

I was able to purchase a new copy at a lower price than Amazon's listed price from the other sellers links. I just can't help believing this is the best compilation of BJ Thomas's hits.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, January 7, 2005

I am very pleased with this CD. There is more than 75 minutes of music and it includes all of B.J. Thomas's hits. I rate 6 of the songs as very good or excellent. My favorites are "No Love At All", "Rock & Roll Lullaby" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry".

I agree with the other reviewers that this is the one to buy for a B.J. Thomas collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Sound quality issue.., April 7, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: All The Hits: The Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
I ordered this CD based on the many good reviews, as I love BJ Thomas's music and have many of these same songs on Vinyl or cassette, which are now getting old and I wanted to update my collection. I'm disappointed in the varying sound quality on this CD and I should have paid more attention to the 2 reviewers that mentioned this problem. The first song Billy and Sue does not sound anything like it does on my tape, it's much slower, BJ's voice is also deeper compared to my cassette version of this same song. A few other songs sound almost like they are dying, meaning the song gets so slow it almost sounds like you turned the power off while it was playing. Many of the songs are very good, but unfortunately not all sound quality appears to be correct or enjoyable. Lastly, the CD case was broken at the hinge upon delivery from Amazon.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Disappointing Quality, September 12, 2009
This review is from: All The Hits: The Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
All of the hits are included, but the quality leaves a great deal to be desired. A better sound quality is expected in this day and age of technology. It is definitely overpriced for what you get and a terrible disappointment. Consider other options to obtaining the same songs.

4.0 out of 5 stars first cut, March 24, 2009
This review is from: All The Hits: The Ultimate Collection (Audio CD)
The guitar sound on the 1st cut of this CD does not sound the same as on the album. Questioning whether it was re-produced incorrectly? The rest of the hits are very good.
