5.0 out of 5 stars Rita Springer's latest is your server to E-mail God, October 24, 2000

This review is from: All I Have (Audio CD)
Want to e-mail God? Rita Springer's latest CD gives you that opportunity. Actually, I had never heard of her until this past year. I purchased her last CD - "Created To Worship" which has live versions of a few of the songs on "All I Have". I also happend to be at work. So I put on the headphones and within the first few songs, I was in another place. This CD is not much different. The next thing I knew, my manager was tapping me on the shoulder, asking me if I forgot where I was. Yep. and I want to go back there. Let's see, where would I rather be...at work or in the throne room of God. Hmmmm..... Being a lyric-first person, Rita speaks from a place of honesty, a genuine love of Jesus with a heart of gratitude and passion for the One she loves. From a musical standpoint, it's great that Rita does not fall into a certain style musically. It's more like the style fits the song rather than the style fitting the artist. "Phenomenon" has a drive and crunchy electric guitar that absolutely lends well to the fire in the lyrics, "I've had enough of this life of a Pharisee, I want to know this Jesus who's been loving me, So I'm running into the temple just to see, the One that I love." Then on another end of the spectrum, the arrangement of "Like You Jesus" is a sweet song of recommitment, repentance with a musical flavor of innocence as a child going to her Papa to hang out on His lap for a bit. Rita's songwriting is a gift from God to us, that we could, through her music, draw closer to Him. The scripture 1 Peter 4:10 says, "To use the gifts God has given to you to minister to others, faithfully serving Him." Rita knows what this life is all about.

5.0 out of 5 stars God inhabits the praises of His people, April 29, 2002
This review is from: All I Have (Audio CD)
Have you ever met someone who ignited a hunger in your heart for greater knowledge of God? Someone whose passion for God elicits a similar passion in one's own soul to draw closer to HIM? If you haven't, let me introduce you to Rita Springer. In 20 years, I have not heard a recording as personal and moving as this one. I refer to Rita Springer, although I've never met her, as my friend. Her music has touched the deepest part of my life. I can put this music on shuffle with hundreds of other worship songs, but the instant her voice fills the room, I sense a stirring of God's presence in my home. This music is so personal that, at times, I feel like an intruder eavesdropping on a party line. In a world where Christian "industry" can often take center stage, it is refreshing to hear true worship. With her raw, mechanism free vocals in "Phenomenon", Rita cries "I'm not here for the sake of phenomenon, I am not here for experiential bliss. I simply come for the sake of the One I love.....YOU are my phenomenon" Later in the same song she pleads, "forgive me Lord if I've been a marketplace..."

In "Oh How You Love Me" she turns the focus from herself to the Lord and sings "Oh how I love You". Perhaps my favorite, it is so hard to pick, is the gentle and intoxicating "All My Days", in which she sings "the Voice of my Shepherd, I will follow, and the Hand of my Friend I will take, the hem of Your garments I will kiss Lord for all my days..." How I would love to share every word from this beautiful and stirring album, but it would never be the same as hearing it for yourself.

If you've been suspecting that true worship journeys much farther into God's throne room than much of today's musical fare takes us, then you will find your suspcions confirmed here - from this tiny little artist with an enormous heart for God. For a glimpse into her life and heart, check into some of her interviews on the internet. Also, be sure to check out "Created to Worship" - a live cd with exquisite and powerful songs like "Freedom Reigns" and "Moving with the Lamb". ...

Finally, all I can say is that when Rita sings "I am created to worship..." I believe her. And so will you. So - come to the banqueting table. Experience the fullness of worship in spirit and in truth. Drink deep. And may you never walk away satisfied with insincere worship again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD, May 1, 2002

This is an excellent CD. I initially purchased this CD for 1 song (like many of us do)..."You Said", but little did I know...the entire CD is breath taking. Every one of the songs are just absolutely wonderful. It is an awesome CD and truly a must for every believer. Rita has such a soothing way of ministering the WORD of GOD into your spirit/life; you can't help but BE BLESSED by her music. I have now ordered CREATED TO WORSHIP also by Rita. I anxiously await to receive it! Bless yourself and BUY THIS CD!

Thanks for giving me the opportunity of sharing these words to your viewers.

Jae Lee (Atlanta, GA)

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful album, powerful voice, June 22, 2001
By
This review is from: All I Have (Audio CD)
Rita Springer's "All I Have" is a worshipful love-letter to God written in a beautiful and powerful poetic voice. Springer's album is refreshingly honest in a world of candy-sweet pop-influenced Contemporary Christian Music. Springer, along with singer-songwriter Sara Groves, is part of the new, more sincere Christian music movement.

The album is very pleasing to listen to, and Springer's raspy alto vocals (reminiscent of Tina Turner, even), layered over piano, are strong and powerful, while they maintain a sense of wonder, worship and awe. There are a few very notable songs on this album, my favorite being "You Said," "Oh How You Love Me" and "Created to Worship."

If you need a shot of sincerity in your Christian Music, try Rita's album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resting in Him, May 30, 2001
This review is from: All I Have (Audio CD)
I guess that would be the theme of this awesome CD, Resting in Him. The CD starts with a song that speaks of the joy of realizing that God really loves us (Oh, how you love me). Most people seem to ask the question, "Do you love me?" more than give the answer... so it's refreshing to hear someone declaring, "Hey.. God, wow, you really love me,!" The music is draws you out and you want to play that song over and over again. The song, "Between your shoulders" gives such a visual image of God holding us as we "rest between His shoulders." You can just feel yourself relax into God's presence. Another song called "Resting" encourages you to do exactly that, rest in His presence. Overall, the CD is worshipful, and uplifting... a declaration of His love and our desire to be like Him. I haven't tired of this CD yet, and I've played it over and over again.

5.0 out of 5 stars can't recommend highly enough, August 24, 2005
This review is from: All I Have (Audio CD)
I cannot recommend this album highly enough. I have worn it out myself. The honesty and passion are here, delivered with beautiful artistry. I put this album in my top 10 of Worship Albums. A must for anyone who prefers this genre. I also recommend, Charie Hall: "Porch and Altar" and "On The Road To Beautiful", Joel Engle: "Surrender", Shane and Shane: "Psalms" and "Upstairs", Passion "Better Is One Day" and Kim Hill "Surrounded by Mercy". Rita's other albums are fantastic as well, but "All I Have" is my favorite.

I keep this in my car CD changer and find myself in tears when worshiping in the car. The songs compel you to think on the goodness of Jesus. I am often inspired going to work and great to relieve stress after a long day. This CD makes the ride enjoyable.
