Seldom do voices come as pure and pristine as Art Garfunkel's, and this tune is a showcase for it. Just killer!

Art Garfunkel just plain sings like an angel (maybe not Angel Clare, but why quibble?) That pure, soaring voice can actually send proverbial tingles up and down the spine--probably waking up a chakra or two. On this song, Garfunkel transforms the plaintive lyrics from a possible ho-hum to a bittersweet chanson. Beautifully orchestrated with just the right touch of over-the-top subsiding to sweet and simple, the song furnished the soundtrack for a back-in-the-day romance, in all its phases from attraction, through passion, through heartbreak--that's how richly textured it is. I haven't tired of it in 40 years--but the young 'uns like it, too. Versatile, no?
